So do I. In fact I was sure they would release TFA in May.

But after two massive hits in December, plus Marvel owning the summer, I don't see them moving back.

Let's say they stick with May for the Han Solo film. Project the marketing schedule.

I was thinking about that, and I honestly don't know. If we go by Rogue One and what likely happens with TLJ, with their first trailers in April, that's roughly seven months before their respective theatrical releases. Seven months before Han hits in May 2018 would be October 2018... which is when the final trailers hit for both TFA and Rogue One. So would Lucasfilm have a TLJ trailer this October, and then, say, a Han trailer in November? Or delay it even more and just attach the Han trailer with TLJ in December, only five months before the release? I really don't know what the play would be. Lucasfilm would either essentially be advertising two Star Wars movies at once, or they're not showing the first footage from Han until only five months before release, which seems just as weird.

Avengers: Infinity Wars comes out May 4, 2018. Is three weeks really enough time for that to die off before dropping Han Solo? I just don't see Disney's logic in cutting those so close.

Granted, it does seem weird that if they were going to move it, to still be sticking with that date.

I guess they may actually keep it. I wish they wouldn't, mostly because having to start the marketing for Han Solo during the peak marketing period for TLJ seems a bit like overkill, especially considering there is about a 2% chance Avatar actually stays in that December 2018 slot.

Or does this maybe tell us something about Marvel going forward? Perhaps the plan is to ease back there in the coming years.

Seems unlikely. Just trying to possibly explain it.
