Would think it's kinda cool if Kylo gets trained more by Snoke, and in his quest for more power actually kills him.
Would be cool - we haven't seen a Sith kill and takeover for his master.

That'll happen at the climax of Episode IX, when Rey kills Ren and becomes the new Empress of the galaxy.

- you heard it here first.

Yep. If that movie sucks, it won't be because of the casting decisions.

A term that popped up in my second time through Life Debt that I missed the first time is "Eremite."

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Consecrated_Eremite

Rax asks Palps if he is an Eremite returned to Jakku, and he doesn't answer. Palps is also digging and planning to build something on the "important place" on the planet before he was even Emperor... presumably when he was still an apprentice Sith. We know that there was a research facility and a weapons facility on Jakku during Imperial reign.

1000 years ago, Jakku was a lush world, a timeline that lines up with whatever Palps had rediscovered there. It's worth noting that this area is NOT where Rey or Lor San Tekka were in TFA.

The Eremite(s) could play into whatever mysteries there are about Jakku.

Something about it not being wise to upset a Wookiee comes to mind. That was indeed awesome.

I can see how it's too gruesome in a movie meant for kids.

Paying off a line of dialogue from almost 40 years ago is pretty fantastic.

It was PG-13...no reason to exclude it.

Star Wars shows the severed arm of the guy who tries to start something with Luke in the cantina and it was PG

The PG-13 rating didn't come about until 1984.

So the point about the cantina is moot since the ratings change.

What's your point?

I was saying it COULD be in there certainly because it was already PG-13. That's not a reason to exclude it. If it was PG they might have an issue. I guess you're saying even if fit was PG they could have it - doubtful. Not today.

Case in point recall that at the time of the original Star Wars there was no such thing as PG-13. And standards were much more lax especially on non bloody sci fi type violence. PG-13 wasn't around until the early 80s. I believe Indiana Jones II was the first PG-13 movie. Consider that in 1979 Kramer vs. Kramer was rated PG and it contained full frontal nudity. Times have changed.

Actually I think Red Dawn was the first pg-13 movie, because of The Temple of Doom.

Thank kali ma shakti de for the creation of pg-13.

Ok it was because of Indiana Jones II. I just recalled it was related to that. The pulling the heart from the body and sacrifice scene primarily.

The original quote says this was too gruesome (in a movie that was PG-13) and I point out that there is a similar scene in a movie that was PG. Not sure why this seems such a difficult point.

Because I was arguing the same point and you replied to me as if you were contradicting me. He didn't know it was PG-13 I don't think. I'm the one that pointed that out. Thus arguing the same thing in different ways.

I merely pointed out that Star Wars is sort of irrelevant because different standards are applied now. That's kind of like arguing that some cd could be released without a warning label for cursing and racial slurs because of an album released in the 70s. Standards have changed.

The only relevant thing is that it is Pg-13 anyway which is what I said.

I know it's PG-13, and it could've been kept in without issue. But I'm saying they probably didn't WANT to.
