Good list.

I was in 8th grade when The Empire Strikes Back came out. I remember being really excited to see that but that was in a time when there was not so many avenues to generate all the hype we see these days. My internal hype meter was off the charts for Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom by the time I was finishing high school. All of that came via reading magazines like Starlog, though. Then the 1989 Batman movie while I was at A&M was uncharted territory for hype up that point, I believe.

The Phantom Menace is the movie that I think set the tone for all the hype we see nowadays and remains mostly unequaled.

Nine. I remember being OBSESSED with just the teaser poster for that movie. The idea of a "dark" Batman was just so cool and fresh to me as a kid. And then 20/20 did a behind-the-scenes special on the making of the movie right before it came out and I could hardly control my excitement.

That's cool. And yeah, in 100% agreement about TPM.

I don't know if I can put them in order, but my top 5:

The Matrix Reloaded
The Force Awakens
Revenge of the Sith
The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight Rises

I remember spending all day downloading the first trailer for Matrix Reloaded. Ah, the days of dial-up internet and before Youtube. One day we'll talk about that era of the internet like the old timers talk about the early days of television.

I also have distinct memories of downloading a pirated clip of the Yoda vs Dooku fight a few weeks before Clones came out. Blew my 13 year old mind to see Yoda kicking ass with a lightsaber.

I am pretty sure you are right. It is Yavin IV. I wonder if this poster means an international trailer is going to hit soon.

Given the timeframe of this movie in relation to A New Hope, fully believe/expect the rebel base scenes in Rogue One to take place on Yavin IV. Didn't even think it was a question.

Or is there something I missed?

I recently read the Ahsoka book and it: has a chapter on her going to Ilum and the empire is mining it to death. It'll be a nice tie in from the novels to the empire building the weapon in Rogue One
