You'll rue this. Spoiler tags are the worst. People use them ALL the time, even in spoiler threads where they don't being. They quote them. They nest them. This is terrible news.

So, Rogue One discussion... What are your expectations on the way that they end the movie and tie it into the original Star Wars? Will Jyn get a transmission sent while under heavy assault?

Will we actually see the transmission being received on Tantive IV and who might we see inside the ship?

Vader wiping out everyone before they realize the plans have been passed off to the Tantive IV. Or better yet, have him find out and kill everyone in a rage.

Either way, I think the movie ends with the Empire's realization that the plans are now in the hands of Leia's ship. We may even close out on a shot of the Tantive IV passing over Tatooine.

How great would it be to have the last shot of the movie be the reverse-shot of the opening scene of ANH? Tantive IV is flying towards the camera, passes overhead, and we finish on a shot of the Star Destroyer coming into frame.

As I saw on Twitter earlier, you don't even have to kill off the main rebel characters. In fact to make it more family friendly, the reshoots may just send them on a group vacation to Alderaan.

Love that. Would be willing to bet it ends very similarly. We'll definitely see Tontine IV in the final moments, though.

On slightly different note, re: the BEGINNING of the film, I guess I have a bit of a scoop and can confirm at this point that they're NOT using an opening crawl for Rogue One. Alternative options are currently being explored, but the decision to come up with something new and unique has at least been made.

Yupp. Even my friends, who I would consider more than just casual Star Wars fans, were confused by the first commercial. That is probably why they will continue to push Vader in upcoming commercials IMO.

That would be pretty cool.

I was thinking it'd be cool to have a crawl, but have it be different from the saga films.

Like maybe stylize the crawl to appear along the surface of the Death Star in a slow panning shot to open the movie. (Similar to the words appearing on the side of the building in the North by Northwest opening credits.)
