I'm the same way. Ran into Michael Emerson on the street, and I told him I loved LOST and was ready to keep walking. Only reason I got a picture was cause my friend asked for one first.

What's confusing to me is why they're casting now. The Han Solo spin-off doesn't hit 'til May 2018. Which means filming won't begin until 2017, and probably not 'til February or March of that year. So they're probably a year away from cameras even rolling. And it makes no sense to for Han to appear in Rogue One, considering how close it is in the timeline to Star Wars, not to mention the fact that it has long since wrapped filming.
So that got me thinking... is there any way we see a young Han Solo via flashbacks in Episode VIII? We know Rian Johnson is kind of marching to the beat of his own drum with this one, so some kind of break from the mold structurally wouldn't necessarily surprise me.

Well I'm back from STAR WARS Day at Sea. I had a blast and if you have young'uns, I would highly recommended it. Everybody on the boat got involved and I do mean everybody. I saw multiple Radar tech Matt's in costume, a 75 year old scout trooper, Royal guards, Pig guards, Tusken Raiders, Jawas, Classic and First Order Stormtroopers. Kids having impromptu light saber fights, Special drinks and food like Imperial Punch and Nerf Steak were available. Fireworks exploding to John Williams music. Family got a photo with Captain Phasma and Chewie (will post later). Lots of neat merchandise that was moderately priced (HA!). Got to see Episodes 4-6 and watched The Force Awakens twice (count up to 9). I even came in 3rd in the STAR WARS Superfan trivia contest and considering the competition, I was darn happy to do that well.
Everywhere you went there was a character patrolling the decks. Stormtroopers would round up random passengers and make sure all was in order. I was even nabbed. "You don't need to see my identification." did not go over as planned.
Only negatives were (1) no slave leia's (2) it was only one day (3) limited photo opportunities with main characters like Chewie and Darth Vader.
On the plus side, since it was a cruise, I drank and ate too much and laid out by the pool for hours upon end. A fun time was had by all! Sailings for this year end in April, but it picks back up again weekly in January 2017.

Disney Cruises are already bar none some of the best cruising experiences out there. Throw in Star Wars and it isn't a competition.

Maybe they want this Han a year to learn Harrison Ford's mannerisms which they expect a younger actor to struggle with. This gives them plenty of time to meet with Ford and study his films. They know full well the potential backlash with this and want to give the actor the best shot possible.
