After Han finds the Falcon, he tells Finn and Rey that he was able to track them fairly easily. Which is how he found them and why they needed to go to Maz's to get a new ship.

So either Han was full of **** and just said that as an excuse to go talk with Maz or Han turned off the 'Find My Falcon' app.
Han just had a beacon on the Falcon that lit up when it was powered on. No reason anyone else would get the alert.

The way I see it though, the gangs won't eff with the Falcon now as it's a part of the resistance, and Han is dead.

They could have closed this loop by the FO tracking the Falcon to the Illenium system instead of some random reconnaissance ship.
I do think the scene with the gangs or maybe one gang was necessary, perhaps it could have been a run in with a single bounty hunter even. The point was to establish that Han Solo was back to being Han Solo. That point could have been established without the horrible cgi creatures though.

Typically the extra dvd in a slip packaging crammed into the case will be on youtube by the end of the day.
