Trying to decide if Pointless Bone is a better porn movie or funk band name.
Would be a terrible porn movie because it suggests that said Bone never gets relief.
Maybe it's girl on girl - thus the "bone" is pointless?
or the dude is so hammered he gets it on with a) a mannequin; b) a couch cushion or c) List eater - pointless bone.

Genuine question. (This is NOT an attack, but curiosity.)

Why do you jump off the thread when reviews aren't completely positive? I get it if it's just pure, unreasonable hate for the movie, but I felt like the TROS thread remained pretty level-headed and there seemed to be a good balance of positive and negative reviews.

Furthermore, do you not agree with ANY of the criticisms of the movie?

I've honestly never seen anyone handle critique of a movie/franchise like he does with Star Wars. I get that it holds a special place for him, and that he has fond memories of seeing it with family, it's a bonding experience, etc. But it's weird to me how much it clearly annoys him when anyone has even the slightest negative thing to say about it. It's as if he sees critiquing the franchise as invalidating his own, personal experience with it. I no doubt love a good debate about the quality of a movie, and will absolutely argue certain points I'm passionate about, but at the end of the day I could not care less what others say about something I love. I don't need everyone to constantly hold hands and sing Kumbaya, and I certainly don't need to start threads that ban negative reactions to a specific movie. Do I get annoyed when people pop in certain threads and take a quick, pointless sh*t on something we all seem to be enjoying? Sure. But that's rarely what any of us do with Star Wars. By and large, it's an informed discussion, with valid, passionate points.
Did I die? This is an awful euology you're giving me.

By "laughing" at a link I posted, by extension, it came across as a jab at me as well, since I was posting the article as an endorsement of/agreement with it. So it's kind of hard to mock the article but not the person posting it in this instance. Also, you *do* post jabs at me and others here quite often, so it's hard to know which posts are and which posts aren't personal. Ultimately, it clearly bugs you that we all just can't get along and love Star Wars without critiquing it, and it bugs me that you constantly have to defend it all costs. It is what it is.
To be fair, to say that Star Wars will never recover in light of the Mandalorian is pretty shortsighted. It survived the prequels, it will survive this.

It depends on your definition of "recover." Again, the franchise is here to stay, but I'm convinced we've already seen the height of Star Wars popularity and box office dominance.

Also Chewbacca and R2D2 are seen in the parks if you want your OT fix. You have your blue milk.

And Disney was smart not to base it off of an OT or any formerly established planet. It really is an incredible achievement walking around the park. I was more in awe of it than I was the Wizard World at Universal Studios and that is saying something. I know I will never forget making my lightsaber at Savi's or walking around the Millenium Falcon (more of an OT character than most honestly).

I went there in Nov before Rise and excited to go again in March to ride it which is lauded as one of the greatest achievements in Theme Park history.

He couldn't be saved by Luke or Leia. He could be saved by a kindred spirit and the ghost of his father, who Luke promised in TLJ would always be with him.

Yes, I know. I never said the park changed. I said that TROS killed my interest in the park. I've obviously never been, but literally every piece of marketing and online content I've seen of the park has to do with the sequel trilogy. It's Rey, Kylo, and The First Order walking around and interacting with fans. It's set on a planet not featured in the OT. My point is that I have no desire to revisit anything to do with the sequel trilogy after TROS. And the question Aggie_Journalist asked had to do with hypothetically converting the park to a clearly recognizable OT setting with OT characters. So I answered that question.

What is it with the last few responses to my posts just completely misinterpreting what I'm saying?
Im with you 100%
I went to disney world in the 90s, and going on Star Tours was a blast. If they made a park that set primarily at Original Trilogy locations, id be much more interested than a park that is primarily set in the new locations/characters.

Based purely on how they have handled the past 10 years, I agree. IF they have the courage/insight to change how they write/make future movies I would disagree.

Sentence I snuck into a 20,000-word book I'm ghostwriting on the history of antibiotics

With the rise of the resistance to antibiotics threatening the potency of the first order of discoveries like penicillin from a long, long time ago, scientists and researchers are using new techniques to strike back.

Among the many problems of TROS, that one is one of the worst offenders. It's so dumb.

Why go through that whole ordeal of 3PO saying an emotional goodbye to everyone, if it's just going to be reversed back just a few minutes later with a memory restore? So pointless.

And it would even be forgivable if not compounded by Chewie's death fakeout.

It's like the movie wants to hit us with these emotional moments, but not have them have actual, long-lasting repercussions. It's cheap as ****.

The Chewie death fake out is kind of lost in the frenetic pace of act 1. I didn't even have time to comprehend what was happening in the theater.

still like the idea of 3PO not being restored and R2 filling him in starting with 'a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...'

followed by a long pause and 3PO saying 'echuta!' and walking away
