Lucas's original draft of IV had Obi-Wan in a very similar state to how we find Luke in 7/8 - he's got a robot arm, he's pissed about everything, and he is the one who doesn't want to go to Mos Eisley or anywhere else.

It's pretty simple, just don't have Luke die at the end of TLJ from force exhaustion. Give him a full chance to redeem himself in Ep 9, help bring Ben back to the light, and kick a lot of ass throughout the movie.

The fact that all we got of him was TLJ just exacerbated the issues people had with Luke's story. Nevermind the fact that he never gets to interact with Han or Leia.

9 was supposedly going to be leais movie. Just as 7 was Hans and 8 was Luke's. So unfortunately that wasn't possible.

I still don't understand why they chose that order. 8 should have been Leia's, if only because Luke should have ended the whole thing/been the last man standing, so to speak. I've said it before and I'll say it again, but it should have been Leia who did the "Holdo maneuver," leaving Poe in charge, questioning himself as to whether he was ready or not (while there never should have been a Holdo character, period).

That doesn't mean Luke needed to die.

The real crime is that they had a fantastic sequel trilogy in the Thrawn novels that could have been updated to feature a new young cast of characters interacting with the old cast.

But they instead recycled the plot from A New Hope in 7, didn't plan beyond that, and everything went to hell in episodes 8 and 9.
Thanks and gig'em

I agree, I'm just relaying facts.

Admiral Ackbar should have done the Holdo, and at the last second as he punches it, they show Hux saying "It's a tr ..." and then that great shot of the star destroyer shredded.

Re: Warner Bros announcing Denis Villeneuve's next - which is very likely Dune Messiah, despite Villeneuve previously saying he needed a break from Dune - for December 18, 2026... the same day an untitled Star Wars movie is set to release, which is very likely the Rey movie, Star Wars: New Jedi Order.

I agree that Warner Bros claiming an already taken date, by an equally huge title, is super rare/aggressive... unless Warner Bros knows something we don't. It's always been odd that Disney scheduled two Star Wars movies within eight months of each other, seeing as A) they implied they'd never do that again after The Last Jedi / Solo, and B) The Mandalorian & Grogu is already set for May 22, 2026 (Memorial Day weekend). But now I'm betting Disney slides the Rey movie to summer 2027 - specifically, Memorial Day weekend 2027, which is currently wide open - and that Star Wars potentially goes back to Memorial Day weekend from here on out.

We shall see...

I believe the sequel is actually called Freaky Friday 2: Lindsey Lohan Gotta Eat

I like Daisy Ridley a bunch and I realize there still isn't a script but she sounds incredibly unethused every time she talks star wars. Not holding my breath that this movie ever happens. Much more interested in a post-Rotj mando thrawn ahsoka culmination

Why does Disney seem so uninterested in telling a story that involves Luke trying to restart the Jedi? Is it b/c Hamill is still around?

Unfortunately we know the culmination of that story

Everything I've heard says the thrawn ahsoka mando story absolutely involves luke and Han as well

Seems like she's doing pretty well these days with Netflix.

My wife and I watched a Lohan Christmas movie of some sort back in December and it was as cheesy as all the Hallmark Christmas movies.

It wasn't good or bad. It was just what we expected.

I watched the Ireland one just cause I'd just come back from backpacking through there.

It's exactly what I expected.

Really great behind-the-scenes photo, one I'd somehow never seen before…

I randomly decided to search for the KOTOR remake, and as of a week ago reports are is "in the works." However, who knows how far along it is, since the companies controlling it keep being acquired by or leaving other companies.

Would love a re-release of the game.

I would as well. As it stands, the original does not support a controller on Steam so that's a deal killer. It's on sale right now for those who want to play it with K&M.

Wow. $3.50 for one of the best games ever. It's such a time commitment, though...and I really hated Taris

Some cool stories and fun tidbits from the sets of SW and Indy.

Also learned that Nick Gillard played the Alien Queen in Aliens.

When you get to the speeder bike race to free Bastilla, you feel like you've won the power ball.
No more fighting Sith troopers and rakhjouls with Carth or Mission whining

Is it not for sale anymore on Nintendo switch??? That's how I bought it a ways back.

It was definitely worth the hype

Finished Ashoka; thought it was solid (7-7.5/10)... biggest quibbles:
1. Sabine has the force? Or not? She doesn't have talent but can deflect blasters with her lightsaber? Nahhh

2. Star Whales - didn't like them in Rebels; don't like them in Ahaoka..

Everything else was decent to pretty good

I liked Ahsoka, except for Sabine making just terrible decisions for the sake of getting the plot to go where it needs. And not telling Ezra anything about what got her to that area.
Flashdiaz

would have liked it better if Sabine never really was able to use the force and instead tapped into her Mandalorian skills to help out.

Sabine was hot enough that all was forgiven when she went from using the Force to slightly move a lightsaber to hurling another human being several hundred feet in the air.

I got a live-action Thrawn, and I suspect I'm going to be seeing him a lot more in the next few years. There's an enormous amount of joy in that.

In other news, Joel Edgerton (non-crispy Uncle Owen) gets it:

" There are 'Star Wars' fans who could write a better 'Star Wars' TV show than you could imagine because they've studied it like the Bible and they've imagined all the threads and they know the histories of all the characters. I think it's worth listening to fans because someone out there is going to go, 'What if this?' And you go, 'Oh, I want to watch that."

Uncle Owen finally read the 300 scripts a year I've been sending him since 2002.
