A Batman show that is straight-up set in the 70s would be pretty cool. Not a Batman "prequel" which is more or less what this is, but a Year One type setting with a newly minted Bat cracking skulls in 1972.

I'm just not sure what story they're attempting to tell with this one. Most of what makes gotham such a compelling place is the villain / batman relationship. You take that away, and it's just another city with someone not as interesting as batman.

I'm a sucker for most things Batman related so ill give this a shot. I didn't see any blimps during the trailer, just in the final title screen in the background. I hope they're in the show.

A young Penguin, Catwoman, the Riddler and Poison Ivy....all in the pilot? I seriously hope that they were pulling scenes from the whole season and not just the pilot. Even then, they aren't saving much for future growth in coming seasons.

And I'm confused: isn't this show supposed to be about the Gotham P.D.? Because it looks like "Batman Begins at the Begining."

The Gotham PD had a big influence on Bruce when he was young, and their corruption was a big catalyst in him becoming Batman in many stories. They're tied together.
