2PAC is the greatest rapper that eva was.
And Jay-Z has already past up Biggie. But I still give great respect to The Notorious B.I.G. by putting him in the top 3.

Second best rap video of all-time (behind "California Love". Excess done right. Every typical "rap" video followed this blueprint. The only one that came close was "Big Pimpin'" by Hov and UGK.

One of the the two or three hardest songs evarz. A couple of other songs started the east/west coast beef, but this is the song that started and eventually ended the Tupac/Notorious B.I.G. beef. The beat, Big's verses, Puff's ad libs. Legendary b-side. Pac's career (and life) went downhill after this song. Sad.

Best first/debut rap single ever? Maybe. The only ones that came close were "My Name Is" by Eminem and "In Da Club" by 50 Cent. Homer in his first at-bat. Who doesn't know the words to this song?

Speaking of Eminem, this may be the only, ONLY song that he got upstaged on. He destroyed Jay-Z on "Renegade" and Hov put out two of his best verses on that track. 50, Dre, Snoop, Royce, whoever. Eminem went harder than them if they split/traded verses. Except on this song. And Eminem laid this verse down posthumously after Big's death. Big made Em look like Carlton Banks.

"Stan" by Eminem? "99 Problems" by Jay-Z? "One Love" by Nas? Basically any song that featured the same rapper rapping back to himself as another character/entity, well, Big did it before them and better.

Probably the first and last rapper to go at both Raekwon and Ghostface and win. And this was during the height of the Wu's powers. Dude said "**** it, why try, throw bleach in your eyes, now you brailin' it..." I love, love, love Rae and Ghost, but they're was no coming back from that diss. He even implicitly dissed DJ Premier on this track and Primo was the one that produced it! Monster status.

He really can't be touched.

Head Ninja... Your lists are pretty good for post 1992 rap but you are missing quite of bit of "perspective" about Hip-Hop. If you are keeping rap and Hip-Hop separate, I understand. I do the same thing but there are a lot of really notable artists you fail to mention.

No Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow.

The only one I omitted was Chuck D. He has a top five voice for sure.

Kurtis Blow was an average rapper. Pioneer for sure, but he wasn't anything special. Grandmaster Flash wasn't a rapper. If anyone from the Furious Five gets props for rapping, it'd be Melle Mel since he was the mouthpiece for the group. "The Message" is one of the ten best rap songs ever made and it was all Melle Mel. The Beasties have their place, but they should be nowhere near a discussion of best rapper(s) ever. They get their credit for style and energy, and to a lesser extent, their use (or abuse?) of sampling.

Where's Big L? I think he's the only rapper that even rivals Biggie lyrically...

No one ever thinks about him only because he didn't get into the mainstream/radio hip hop scene before he was murdered. Next to Notorious BIG, I don't think there was ever a better rapper.

Nevermind...I don't know why I didn't see him listed under punch lines.

I'm glad he's recognized somewhere.
