Shapeshifters.

Wow, even though it was pretty obvious they were going to have the shapeshifter take him over at the end, I still love the way they've set this season up. This is definitely one of the most underrated shows on TV right now. I do wish they had done more of a recap though, I might have to go watch the last episode of last season to remember what exactly happened.

I was sad to see the real Charlie die. I liked him. Does add an interesting element to the season though.

Agree about Charlie. He was the "everyday" guy. Guess he will eventually be out of the show.

The new chick is hotness, but I wonder how they will play her role with Peter... I like the him and Dunham element like Mulder/Scully

Speaking of, this is very reminiscent of X-Files Season Two... They "shut down" the X-Files, and the shape shifting alien comes into the story. If Peter ends up on a nuclear sub in the artic circle with one...

They even mentioned the X-Files in the Hearing committee meeting. Thought that was interesting and sort of ties some of this together.

Farva-

in the last episode last season, the accident accured as she was drawn into the alternate reality. there she met with spock and he told her he needed to tell her something important and that's where it ends. we dont know what he said, and apparantly olivia cant remember at this point. her crashing through the window was when she came back into her reality.

I'm interested to see how the greek plays into this.

anybody figured out what she said when she came back from the coma? anyone see the bald dude?

saw the bald dude in the very first scene. he is walking on the crosswalk after the accident. you can see him walk across the bottom of the screen as they pan into the accident scene. did a good job of hiding him this time.

she spoke greek, and peter later told us what it translates to. im curious as to what it means that she said it and does not know greek. how does that connect to the overall story? i think we will see later.

Thanks hilo. I'll have to go back and watch because I didn't see the observer and was definitely looking for him in that first scene. Agree about being sad to see Charlie go too. When I first saw them take off separately to go after the shapeshifter I said to myself that I really hoped it was the new girl that gets taken over and not Charlie. But it definitely sets up an interesting plot line for the season.

Does the fact that Olivia said what Peter's mom said (in Greek) mean she met his mom in the other world, or does it mean Spock knew his mom well enough to tell Olivia that to prove to Peter she had been there?

Man, sorry to see real Charlie go, but nice twist. But disappointed with the copying of X-Files "they're shutting us down" thing. John Noble as Walter Bishop is the main reason I watch!

- New chick is hot and so far is good, but bringing in new people is always hard so we'll see where that goes.

- Caught the two X-files references (1) in the hearing and (2) it was on the TV in the apartment of the first shapeshifting murder

- This almost played like a season finale in the twists at the beginning (1) they are getting shut down, (2) Olivia dead, etc.

- The new chick referencing the bible at the end was interesting.

Another great episode of this show. Looks to be a good season.

So when did Olivia jump? Last season they made it look like she switched universes in the elevator and this last episode made it sound like she jumped back and forth in the instant before the car crash (which if I remember correctly she was almost in a crash in last season's finale on the way to the meeting). So effing confused.

i was thinking it was spocks way of speaking to peter, since he would have known peter as a boy and his mother as well, but you bring up an interesting idea about his mom in the ohter dimension as well!

Also wasn't it established in the first season that the "real" Peter died in childhood and that the Peter we know is actually a Peter from another "timeline" or dimension? So maybe his mom was communicating to him that she is still in the other dimension waiting for him.

First they kill off Partner #1 and now Charlie. Argh. So disappointed. She needs to have a stable partner in her life and Peter is not an agent.

Alright does anyone else get the vibe that either that the alternate reality walters switched places (mainly becuase of the change of behavior that peter mentions), or did the traveler do something else to Walter? I still think it is the same Walter because we get the idea that alternate Peter doesn't like the same things that original Peter (alluded to being killed in season 1) does food wise and what not, so if it was alternate Walter then he should know what the Peter that is alive wants.

Just got season 1 in the mail & started watching it tonight.

This show is great.

when the shapeshifter changes, the person he/she copies dies

so when he went from the nurse to charlie, why was her body there? its like 2 bodies came from 1 since they showed charlies body at the end...

I think that must have been where he killed the nurse originally, and probably planned to dump her body in the oven when he was done. But it ended up working out so that he could use her body to help avoid suspicion and make everyone think he was still Charlie. And if I remember right he hid Charlie's body in like a laundry hamper or something.

my thought was the shape shifter just dumped the body there, didnt care if anyone found it or not (see the other bodies he/she left laying around). then, when the interrogation didnt work and he/she didnt get to kill dunham, it led them to the nurse's body so that it could use the opportunity to turn into someone on the team.

the team doesnt realize they are one body short when they find the nurse. either that, or they figure the body will show up eventually.

I'm suspicious of the new agent. The timing of her appearance is pretty convenient and she was very willing to get deeply involved. If they're really copying X-Files, she'll be the new Krycek - double agent, switching sides, etc. A real stretch of the imagination would have her be Leonard Nimoy's daughter...

ok but:

- charlie walks in there, doesnt see the body
- hears her drop, turns & fires (at this point peter & agent amy start running there)
- shape-shifter kills charlie, mashes its own face up, puts the thing in charlies mouth & its mouth, does the painful shape-shifting, hides charlies body, and then gets back in position to be seen by peter/agent amy

- peter didnt seem that far away (and why was he not armed somehow)
- why did no one check charlies mouth

btw, that new agent is hot
