Help Ags!

We are in Houston where I will have open heart surgery 6/19 for a mitral valve replacement among other things. Long, complex surgery with several days under anesthesia following actual surgery,

I cannot get my Aggie ring off and will need to have it cut off. Can anyone recommend a jeweler to use?

Just have the surgeon remove the finger while you're under. That way you don't damage the ring.

Have you tried windex? It works wonders for getting a ring off. The jewelry store taught me this trick. Best of luck to you tomorrow

Prayers for a successful surgery and an expedient recovery.

Go to a local funeral home and ask if they can help you remove it before you have it cut off. I am 100% serious.

FYI - You should be able to use an oscillating saw with a metal blade to cut it off without doing much, if any harm to your finger. We used a bone saw to cut mine into 3 pieces to save my finger years ago. We slid a popsicle stick between the ring and my finger to protect the finger.

I had to get mine sized down since I've lost weight compared to graduation

Thanks for the help! The floss, etc did not work. I called the Association of Former Students and they suggested the Fire Dept....apparently CSFD gets this request with some frequency.

We were up College Station today to see the grands and stopped by the FD. They were gracious and got 'er done.

This did not work for me when I had to get a ring off, however Windex did work. Not sure why or how but give it a try.

Don't cut the ring! Just cut off the finger.

How did they do it?

Tried soap it did not work at all. Windex worked very easy. Again not sure of the physics of it but that was my experience. The Windex worked even after my finger was swollen from trying and failing with soap and the string method
