is there any alternative to the big players - i've been sick of AT&T for a while now? I'd love to support a smaller business but i think all the big guys own the spectrum and the smaller providers just piggyback off those and will throttle you as second tier...

AT&T in CS and we show SOS on all our phones.
Wish mine was down so I wouldn't get 8 damn political text every day.
AT&T showing SOS in Crosby and Hobby areas.
No problem with ATT here in Williamson county.
I swear I've been having att issues for a couple weeks now. And my truck radio has been random going nuts.

I have AT&T but I still have an iPhone 11. Some coworkers of mine have a 14 or higher and they have SOS. I wonder if it's just the newer phones that are the problem.

There was an update that came to my phone yesterday but I have not updated it yet. If you have auto updates on, I would bet money this is the problem.
The problem is almost certainly an Apple one. Some moron ****ed up some settings and bricked everyone's phone.
Mine is working....I had a phone call about 30 min ago before I heard about there being a problem

I didn't update mine, on an iPhone 15 and it's not working.
Both boys have different phones than us, on a different carrier, and theirs aren't working.
Pretty odd.
Some days, it's good to be anti-Apple.
Work phone is older and has SOS. Personal phone is newest version and connected.

My wife did the update last night, I did not. Neither of us have service. I wonder if we dropped back to LTE or earlier if it would work. Maybe that is why some of these older phones are working.

Yea mine was on SOS about 5am when I got off the house WiFi. Flipped to airplane mode and back and it came back online.

Rebooted twice tried the airplane mode couple of times. Nothing. This whole 5G experiment has been a Charlie foxtrot anyway.

Weird. I have an 11 and a sitting right next to a guy who has a 14. Mine works and his does not and we both have AT&T.
My work phone is a 12, is on Verizon, and it works too.
