Had call at 10am on At&T.

Wouldn't connect answering or calling out.

Resorted to facetime audio.

It's not solar flares, idiots. It's because our sacrifices have displeased mother Gaia.

Wait. I think that's why it's so hot.

It's definitely either ISIS or a squirrel chomped through a cable. One of those two.

In 1995 when I was at A&M, no one had cell phones. I saw my first cell phone in 1998 when a friend walked about brandishing it like some exclusive thing (which it was).

We managed fine.

Now if your cell goes down for an hour or two, you go berserk and make dumb posts on social media.

AT&T says they don't know exactly what caused the outage, but they're taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. How can you "take steps to prevent" something if you don't know what caused it?

They're either lying or guessing.

You also had landlines everywhere and pay phones for backup. Not so much nowadays.
