I think it's more that they know their users want to do be as anonymous as possible. Which is understandable. It's also not their job to parent your children.
Children cannot buy alcohol, cigarettes, drive, go into bars after certain hours, go to strip clubs (unless it's drag), or do lots of things that adults can do and ARE REQUIRED TO SHOW ID TO PARTICIPATE IN THOSE ACTIVITIES.Teslag said:Ragnar Danneskjoldd said:

Why is requiring showing an ID to access porn bad?

Quote:
I would have more sympathy for the company if they didnt brazenly host underage videos and refuse to take them down absent court orders. Reprehensible people.

Pornhub took down all content that wasn't verified or user created

There is a difference between quickly showing your physical ID to a guy at the door and sharing digital ID information across the internet.
I believe it has been illegal to shoot children for hundreds of years.Know Your Enemy said:
Apparently kids watching porn is much more dangerous than getting shot up at school. I had no idea.

I'm not sure I even understand what you're saying, but the odds of a kid getting shot in school are like 1 in 15,000,000. The odds of a minor kid being psychologically affected in an adverse way from watching porn are like 1 in 2. It's way more prevalent and way more dangerous than school shootings.
