Gonna zombie this thread because:
#1) Braums is better
#2) It's Oklahoma family owned
#3) It's NOT Chicago private equity fund owned
#4) I can grab groceries on the way out of Braums
#5) Whataburger bacon tastes like it's boiled
#6) Crinkle cut fries FTW

If local drive-through traffic is any indication Braum's is beating Whataburger with a stick. They've got a double drive-through lane and it's always packed. Always. Whataburger has a single lane, maybe 4-5 cars.

The Braum's biscuit and gravy is awesome.

Never cared for their burgers though.

4 pages and only one person correctly identified Freddy's as having the best fast food burger.

They also sell well seasoned fries, fried cheese curds, custard/concretes, and have an actual party melt made with rye bread

When I come back to Texas, there are a number of places I like to go to eat, mainly because they offer something that is either unique, or just something I can't get at that level of quality outside Texas. I never felt compelled to add either Whataburger or Braums to the list. I don't dislike them. I just don't find them unique enough to push someplace else off the list. There are lots of places you can get a great burger in New England. Not so with BBQ, Mexican food, home cooking, etc...My recollection of Whataburger is that half the lettuce falls out when you try to lift it to your mouth. I don't remember much about the taste.

It's a specific style of patty, similar to Steak 'n Shake, but probably higher quality.



I like 'em fine.

I put on 5 pounds after reading this thread.

The burgers are ok. The patty melt is the thing to get there.

Braum's burger isn't bad but their fries are a poor man's Whataburger fries.

I'm convinced the entire concept of cookout was conceived after a week long bender. Burgers and hot dogs? Sure. BBQ? Why not? Hell let's add a quesadilla to the list and let you make it a meal with a cheerwine.

Braum's doesn't toast their buns and puts lettuce on in a giant clump. Therefore, not as good.
