After having 2 picky eaters for kids I thought back to my childhood about all the things I would eat and while not as picky as mine now there were many things I wouldn't eat like bologna or Vienna sausages. Both my toddlers loved those sausages and I wanted to barf having to pull them out of the can, smell them, and cut them up.

Play dough.
Lots of really sugary candy and soda.

Well there was this one thing my aunt made me eat but I'm not allowed to talk about that.

Another Spam-like canned meat.

Adding:

Spaghetti O's (last time I had these I was 20 and super hungover that when I puked them up they also shot out of my nose - never again)
Hot dogs (cheap ones - I will eat a beef one maybe 1-2x a year at most).

Butter. I mean... just straight take a bite out of a stick of butter.

Pretty much anything sold at movie theaters

Those frosted circus cookies
Big Red soda

I have very fond memories of lots of these type things as a kid - vienna sausages, cheap hot dogs, Spaghetti O's (my brother ate them by the case), frozen fish sticks, frozen taquitos by the truckload, etc. My brother and I were mostly on our own during the summertime, and lunch consisted of a lot of that kind of stuff. I don't eat any of those things anymore, but those were good times.

A lot of this is making my mouth water.
Except Vienna sausages. Those were never any good.

I don't get the people who ate non food stuff like paste and play dough. Wtf is wrong with you?

Anything "instant" that came out of a box. Seriously, I think the bulk consumption of processed crap for so much of childhood was not healthy. Things like Mac&cheese out of a box, hamburger helper, processed sugars, sodas, and anything else that generally falls in the category of "junk."

A lot of things I would eat, but won't eat because they're terrible for adult metabolism. Sugary drinks I now find repulsive. Super sweet tea, or Big Red, or Fanta.

I spend a month on a oil rig off the west coast of Cameroon a few years ago. They had resupplied just when I arrived. There is a Coke product plant somewhere in one of the countries there and we got a big shipment of coke, Diet Coke, and every Fanta flavor they make. And tea and coffee.

I was working 12 hour night shifts.
Week 1 and we ran out of cokes.
Week 2 we finished the tea.
Week three, no coffee.
All there was was water and a limitless supply of Fanta....
