Whoever was talking about the band members needing work, yeah, they gone. Turnpike has an amazing fiddle player as one example.

Did cross Canadian ragweed break up for a similar reason? I could see Evan Felker coming around and doing a Cody Canada type thing which will obviously be nowhere near as good.

I heard an interview with Cody Canada and he said one of them had an issue, not Canada, had an issue and the three of them had agreed that CCR was the three of them. So they "broke CCR" up and Canada and the other one started Cody Canada and The Departed. Two of the three but not all of the original band.

I think Turnpike's issue is Felker is the driving force, at least from what I've seen/ heard. It would be similar to Cody Canada having the issue. Yeah the rest of the guys are good but they're not THE guy.

Turnpike ain't Turnpike without Felker. Not saying they can't be good but they're a different group without him.

The Ragweed thing isn't really comparable, in my mind, since it seems like it was music or business related stuff for Ragweed. Turnpike's issues are a whole different kind of thing.

TT was cancelled all shows and announced band is on hiatus indefinitely

Bummed, just bought tickets to the July 12th show at Whitewater last week. Looking forward to REK and whoever replaces TT.

I'm rooting for Evan to get better. Hope they break gives him the time he needs to get clean and sober

The Friday show has been cancelled. They added American Aquarium for the Saturday show.

I go that notice this morning as well. Just downloaded a bunch of American Aquarium stuff (I was previously unaware of them). I dig it. Good replacement. Should be a good show!

I have been a big fan for years and am definitely biased, but their live show is hard to beat.

American Aquarium is great! Their lead singer, BJ Barnum, had similar substance issues that he was able to kick. Gives me hope for Evan.

BJ has a pretty good solo album I would definitely recommend.

Not trying to be an ass by correcting this, but it's Barham. I assume searching for Barnum would get you there on google or spotify but just in case.

Any update on this? I can only assume that no news means good news and Felker is in rehab. It has been a couple months, just wondering if there was any sign of a future for this group.

It's a solid album. Unrung and Pay No Rent are two of my favorites out of their entire song list.

I listened to it all the way through at least 10 times when it came out. Couldn't even tell you how any of the songs go.

I'm fairly old, and when I listened to their music a few years back I thought they were great. I'm hoping they all get their problems straightened out and play for another 20 years.

Agreed. Pay no rent is a top 5 turnpike song for me. I thought their self titled album was very forgettable, but a long way from your heart was a return to form for them.

Still sad to see that they're done it looks like. But at least they left us with some greatness musically, and I have many fond memories seeing them live, including in college station and at chilifest numerous times when I was a student at A&M

I got to see them right before they bailed out at the GA Theatre. They did a solid job that night. Great show in a great old venue.

Yeah, but they most likely will not ever get on the same level or money as they would with Turnpike. IMO, they're just keeping busy until Evan gets cleaned up and they'll be back.

For anyone that grew up in the heartland and/or fell in and out of love, "A Tornado Warning" is just a brilliant, beautiful song.
