Not including South Padre, is there a location in Texas with crystal clear turquoise water and lovely beaches?

Have any favorite spots you recommend for someone looking for lovely views of the Gulf?

I am a middle aged lesbian with two children. In Texas, the GOP would love to claim I am an unfit parent and take my children.

Response when pressed for proof:
I actually have 6 links, and was getting super pissed the more info I looked up...So, look it up yourself, I am not going to fight about something I know to be true, to a person who would just as soon see me in prison or dead.

Mustang Island and North Padre Island beaches are nice in the fall when there isn't sargasso weed and the water is blue.

There are plenty of spots with lovely views.
Pro tip, don't look at the water or sand.

Thanks. I'm looking for good scenic places to propose and I'm thinking of a beach setting. That or the hill country.

When? Wait a couple months and willow city loop would be ideal for scenery.

If you're looking for something unforgettable, try the Brazos by Baylor and on a windy day.

The smell is truly unforgettable.

The public free beaches in Aruba make Texas beaches look like city dumps.

I have no interest in going to Texas beaches after travelling a bit, they are just gross.

There is no beach in Texas with blue water any time of the year ever. What you are describing doesn't exist anywhere in the US gulf outside of Destin Florida.

If your choices are pretty Texas beach or Hill country, the answer is hill country, because the former doesn't exist.

You may be joking, but that's my favorite time to go there or Surfside.

No one is saying Texas beaches are a major destination for world travelers but you're being a bit dramatic. A day at the beach is still a good time.

They are right ya know? Texas beaches are terrible. Whatever you do don't go to North Padre Island. It's like a 3rd world country. Water there is brown and sand is just mud. STAY AWAY. Tell your friends to stay away also.

This Is definitely a tallest midget question. If your goal is to find a pretty beach with blue water, then go to one of the many beaches in Florida.

Yeah, after looking at pictures from everyone's suggestions I've changed my mind on Texas beaches. I'm now thinking of going to Lake Whitney to ask her the big question.

She really likes horses so I wanted us to go horseback riding on the beach afterwards. Still haven't made a final decision on the location though.

That really is not completely correct. Seen and experienced blue water frequently on South Texas beaches. Most common in very late summer through mid fall depending on water temp and current.

Some years are better than others. Water temp on South Texas beaches is really enjoyable as well. Blue water is also commonly seen on South Western Florida beaches. For crowds, access, freedoms, price, Mexican food, and cleanliness i will take South Texas beaches in the gulf over the others.

Nobody's mentioned the hidden gem of Port Mansfield. It was once just a quaint fishing town.

That said, just go to that stupid heart-shaped island at the Riverwalk in SA. Then walk a little bit to get a really awesome caramel apple.

Bro, did you eat some gumbo and crawfish? You'll never be able to eat boiled food in Texas again!
