I can be out my front door and standing on a beach in less than 3 hours. Once I'm there I have my own place, my own boat, my own bed, clothes that I don't have to pack, toiletries, groceries, etc. I get far more utility out of that than crowded airports, packing suitcases, long flights,checking in/out hotels for only a few days a year.

you, sir, are living my dream! What part of the coast do you fish? Port Arthur is my guess?

That is exactly where I'm going to retire.

I'm actually going to buy a condo down there this year and rent it out when I'm not there. Then sell it when I retire and get a house.

There is a romantic bar on the Galveston Seawall called the Poop Deck. Propose to her on the patio at sunset but make sure you get a shot of Pleasure Pier in the background.
