I do not assume that all residents of Walton are white trash (although most are , espcialially when it was non-ac). Just pointing out the double-standard. Sarcasm - learn it, love it, live it.

robins and Woodchucks are probably smarter than humans. They might not have the reasoning capacity, but they also don't constantly whine about how other animals treat them (or whine about whining). I also haven't seen any of them put anything burning in their mouths to purposely breathe smoke.....they usually run from it.

one of the guys who rents the basement apartment in my house came by to pick up a package i was holding for him. as i answered the door he said "friendly neighborhood negro calling!" it was funny.

A&M will never be a top 20 school, anyway.

If A&M turns into the school from the movie PCU just so it can have a shot at being "Top 20," most of the people that I knew from A&M wouldn't want to associate with it anymore.

No one has yet mentioned where the off campus location is. Maybe it's downtown Bryan in the 'toe. If that's so, then a ghetto party is right. Damn, lighten up. The PC mentality will destroy this country yet.

Can we help it if the local liquor stores needed somebody to finish off all of their old "40's"? Seriously though, the only reason this thing started was to have an excuse to not study on MLK's birthday. It never should have been advertised.

I think it's funny. What better way to remember MLK than by throwing a party in his honor!

I hope they still have their party.

I think there's big difference in whites throwing a party making fun of whites for being rednecks and whites throwing a party making fun of blacks for being black.

It may be totally legal and only done in fun, but intelligent people would probably agree that it's classless and disrespectful. Therefore, not welcome at MY university.

I'd like to know where it's written that a white kid from Walton came up with this idea? Contrary to the belief of many people on this board - black guys do have a sense of humor. I could totally see one of my buddies from college coming up with this idea just to see what fools his friends would make of themselves. I'm with DallasAggie2000 on this one - cut out all the PC crap - if it doesn't sound like fun to you, DON'T GO!

Considering that blacks make up such a small percentage of students at A&M, I doubt this is would be a fair assessment. Were there 50 white guys in attendance and one black guy?

This is political correctness gone amok. They were going to have an off-campus, non-university affiliated party. In such a case, they can do whatever they want with the bounds of the law. They could dress up like anything they want. In fact, lots of Greek organizations (university-affiliated organizations, mind you) have "Pimps 'n Hoes" parties and no one objects to that. A Ghetto party is not racist, it's a friggin' costume party and just a way to booze it up.

I am so glad my tour of duty at A&M was '95 to '99. I got out right before the institution started turning into just another typical liberal bastion of political correctness. I feel sorry for current and future Aggies who have to suffer through such a watered down, politically correct experience.

I'm not positive about this, but I believe this event returned recently after a one year hiatus at the request of a black student to continue having the party.
