This can be so tough because you need two things: be with an academy (this is almost non-negotiable), and the F1 team you are involved with having a seat open, but if another seat opens you can exit your current Academy to try your luck into getting that seat, which is the case of Bortoleto who left the McLaren program to get into Audi.

The ones that me personally feel have the best chances right now:
1. Freddie Slater. This one is quite honestly hilariously obvious. I guarantee you will see him in 2028.
2. Rafa Camara. Supposedly already up for Haas.
3. Nikola Tsolov. If Racing Bulls loses a driver, then he has to be the one. Currently winning a lot in F2 and had 3 wins in a row. Lawson in his last year in F2 was really just winning sprint races and Arvid was a chokejob in F4 and F3. I'd rather see Tsolov over Arvid.
4. Ugo Ugochukwu is in McLaren and has a chance, but he is too damn tall.
5. Ernesto Rivera is one I would look for. Missed F3 pre season test and the first round due to injury but has become one of the top drivers this season. Signed to Red Bull Junior Team last year. Mexican driver on the grid will always be someone to consider because of the Mexican market.

Colton Herta is another one and I believe Cadillac mentioned that they won't look at his F2 results that much anyway. Cadillac doesn't have a proper driver academy yet but would be interesting to see if they have one in the future.

Aston Martin has one but I think they only have Mari Boya in it and I doubt he makes it to F1.

Ferrari may need to sign talent if they lose Dino Beganovic and Rafa Camara at the end of this year. They only have Tuukka Taponen in F3, he is a great driver but just like Giusti he signed with MP for this year because they are usually a top team but they are straight garbage this season. After them they only have Nico Macaggani in Formula 4 and Filippo Sala in OK Senior karting which should be his last year before single seaters.

Any of you guys playing F1 25 on PS5? They had a recent update with the 26 rules and regs, and I actually think the overtake boost is fun. It does make you plan your driving better, but it's actually pretty strategic and it's fun to go blowing by Verstappen on the straightaways.

I'm practically an F1 driver now.

an hour ago FIA gave out a penalty in F2 because of a VIP guest grabbed a headset with a mic connected to the car, they claim it was grabbed by mistake but kept it on during the F2 race, the driver of the car (noel leon) got disqualified, the team got fined 20k and lost 25 points in the championship. Team is Campos (current leaders) so no idea how they ignored this

George probably assumed that with the departure of Lewis and the arrival of the 2026 regs, a Driver's Championship would magically fall into his lap this year. Neither he nor anyone else predicted that Kimi would shoot straight past him to the #1 spot in Mercedes and F1.

Needless to say, it has turned him into what everyone sees now.

COTA added an extra day, Thursday Preview Day, which will have F1 Academy practice and qualifying. Tickets start at $20 but if you have a 3 day you can claim a free one.

This seems like COTA will start to look into Thursday to inflate their attendance numbers, like other tracks. This year they may have an initial crowd as it will have F1 Academy but for example Melbourne opens thursday for free to locals and they have Aussie Supercars racing that day as well. If COTA loses F1A I don't see how they would get a crowd in the following years.

If they bring a nice headliner on thursday, that would inflate numbers pretty well. Silverstone Thursday is well attended because of the live music/entertainment as well as the other attractions like the Museum and a few Q&As.

So if a driver has too much battery charge just prior to launch, the "ideal" revs for a start (in this case 12,000 rpm and change) will require less throttle. When the driver dumps the clutch at launch, even though the rpm's are on target, there's not enough throttle causing an anti-stall issue.

Did I get that correct?
