I don't know if Lyles in his heart of hearts will still believe he can break the WR after this Olympics, but he obviously has to fix the start to have a chance in hell. But more than that, Thompson has all sorts of issues with his form that can be addressed more readily than Noah's start.

Yep 0.1 is crazy. Science has shown reaction time can be as quick as .08
And the average reaction time is way down lately people are training for it with technology I think I heard the average reaction was down from .17 like 8 years ago to .14 now.
Really Lyles reaction time was what used to be average and now he was last at the start.

Zharnel Hughes got 0.105 at the 2023 world championships final but everyone else was about 0.13 or higher through all the rounds.
I do think, at a minimum, they should just provide a warning for after the gun false starts.

Lyles coasted to first in his heat at 20.19 was not pushed really. He pushed it for about 30M after the curve then shut it down when it was clear he was winning easily.
