Hosfeld's most recent collegiate coaching experience came as an interim assistant coach at Utah, where he spent the 2011 season before transitioning full time to club volleyball.

He has been working at the club level for the last ten years, most recently for T3 Volleyball in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Geeeeezus. I guess we are down to the bottom of the barrel if that's the candidate. Talk about bringing home the sizzlelean with that hire. Might as well drop women's volleyball if that's what we are reduced to and start up a women's field hockey/ lacrosse and a gymnastics program

NC State Coach Luka Slabe would check the Olympic Coaching box. Not sure that is exactly a shocking hire. I wouldn't say his record is all that impressive 40-35, but can say I haven't heard much in terms of NC State volleyball either! Perhaps that is an impressive feat considering it isn't a well known volleyball school.

I do think this would be a good hire. He comes from a program with a high expectation of winning and will have those same expectations moving forward. The difference being, are we well funded enough to compete at the highest level as compared to his previous gig? Most elite coaches will be asking for the budget and comparing it to where they are currently to see if we are in the competitive ball park. Sadly, much of this comes down to money and resources.

Of course, until someone is named it could change.
There are 20+ D1 head coach jobs available, so I'm sure the pool of candidates is shrinking.
Would I love to see aTm go the football route and lure away a championship level coach.... Yes! Will that happen, doubtful. There needs to be a volleyball only complex on campus, and possibly start a beach program.

certainly seems like it (poor coaching). There was several talented girls over the years yet the team never played like a team. No consistent hitter game to game.

Tyler Hilderbrand also fits the criteria at Long Beach State alhough he just took the job recently but this may be something to take with SEC money

College sports are so much about recruiting and now retention. If he hires a strong recruiter, JM should be fine. Hit the portal and bring in some athletes that are mature and can play right away, or pad your pre conference schedule like Auburn did.

Not ripping Auburn, I'm saying they did it right. So many teams try and challenge their teams in pre conference thinking it will prepare them for conference, only to have the team lose confidence and realize early in the season, that they are going to struggle. I agree with Crouch. If you have a "new" or "young" team, build their confidence. That's what I'm hoping the new aTm coach will do.

Head coached the Netherlands women's national team for a few years but has never been the head coach for a college program! Last worked for tu as an assistant! He has coached Lednicky and Underwood which is huge!! Now let's stack this roster!! I believe!
