Sure would be nice if some players from Vegas either retired, got traded, got paid big money by other teams, or got hurt before next season. They have been in the WCF way too many times the last 5 years or so. We probably would've won a cup if it wasn't for them.

The way they ran up the score last night I felt less embarrassed for the Stars. Poor kitty cats.
They pulled a Tampa with LTIR and the salary cap this year, so they have some decisions to make this offseason. They'll at least have some cap issues. 3 of the 4 goalies they used this year are UFAs, including Hill and Brossoit and only around $3.5M in cap space. Other than Barbashev, they don't really have any noticeable UFA skaters. Will be interesting to see who they try and dump.
Tkachuk played game 4 with a broken sternum and Ekblad broke his foot in the Boston series, and had two separate shoulder dislocations and a torn oblique this postseason. Unbelievable what these guys play through.

More unbelievable that they want to play through those injuries unlike other sports. LeBron could break a fingernail and he's out 2 games.

Erik Karlsson is on the trading block. The Athletic ran a story identifying the 6 teams that should be interested. Dallas was #2. The arguments are obvious. It would immediately make Dallas' blue line one of the best in the league and would be an obvious fit with Lindell.
The article appropriate points out the obvious cap situation and says:
"The Stars would need to buy Ryan Suter out, trade Hakanp and/or Colin Miller and probably get rid of a contract like Radek Faksa's." That's just to get the cap space. No telling what San Jose wants in return.
This will obviously not happen, but man this team would be a cup favorite with Karlsson, Heiskanen, Harley, Lindell and Lundkvist on the back end. If only...

They ( SJ) would have to retain some of Karlssons contract and we would have include a NHL ready young player. We're very close so I would not be opposed to it.

If we can't get Karlsson I wouldn't be opposed to the Carolina defenseman. Nill knows we are a real contending Cup team and will make a big move this off-season but not sure what exactly it will be. We're too close to stay as is.

You had the scoop. Heika reporting that Kelly has officially decided to move on. Tough loss. As a video coach, he got more love than the regular coaching staff(s) he worked under. That says something.

Not going to happen. He's going to want, and deserves, more AAV than the Stars can offer.
Good value and short term. I like it. Dadonov was great on the ice and in the locker room. Now there's no need to go out and overspend on a 2nd/3rd liner. We can focus on upgrading the blue line
Plus, we have Stankoven that is coming in and needs a spot. No way we're playing him on the 4th line.

I think you keep Johnston with Benn and Dadonov. Thay line works beautifully together.
If we could get out of the Marchment contract and use it to sign Domi, I would LOVE it. I just don't see it. An ideal scenario would be to just slide Marchment to the 4th line, sign Domi, and still upgrade on D. I just don't see how that happens.

I'd love to make the trip for a game in Canada at some point. I think year after next for my son's senior year, we'll try and do a big roadtrip. As it stands for this coming season, we're planning a group trip to Vegas in mid October to coincide with the Oct. 17 game against the Knights.
