Why is her name spelled Mu but pronounced "Moe". Why isn't it pronounced "Moo"?
Her family immigrated from South Sudan. If you will just spend a little time studying South Sudan linguistics I think you will find your answer.

800 is held by Nadezhda Olizarenko who may have had a little help.
Annie made her some money this weekend....which makes me happy. And yes, she was basically paying her own way before.mullokmotx said:
Annie's sponsor situation is that she doesn't have any.
The improvement she has made since World's is amazing and came with hard work and overcoming injuries and disappointments. She had to have several PB's this meet to get the standard and even to get 3rd place. In college Williams and Bougard were always ahead of her and I never thought of her winning. American Champion and Olympian Annie Kunz sounds pretty good.
THANKS! Can you also provide a list of Aggies that will be competing for other countries?taylorswift13 said:

Olympic standards are pretty high. Some events have only like 10 qualifiers based on the standard for example the Heptathlon. The governing body selects from like the next 24/32(?) in the world to fill out the field provided there are no more than 3 athletes per country per event. The standard is waived for some countries for participation purposes but it's only for one athlete in one event or something like that. Generally, they have to go through an extra preliminary round.htxag09 said:Sodadude said:I think her best is 1.90 meters. The Olympic standard is 1.96 meters.wangus12 said:

How do Olympic standards work? Are they waived for countries with one or very few participants? I mean I know they're a thing, but, unless I'm misremembering, it always seems like there is at least one participant when you watch the olympics that makes you ask what the hell they're doing there.
Yes, if they don't have enough qualified people to fill the event field they can add based on World Rank. Unfortunately Distin is currently ranked #84 in the world so no real chance to get in that route. The entire competition is also limited to 1900 athletes. When they hit that number they stop adding.TRM said:Olympic standards are pretty high. Some events have only like 10 qualifiers based on the standard for example the Heptathlon.
