Yes there is racism in NASCAR and everywhere else, but is it as pervasive as they are making it seem? Probably not.

Here's my problem with people automatically thinking the worst. We'll have blacks who see racism where there really is none. Right or wrong, others will think, "Hey, it's not worth being around them because I'll end up being accused of being a racist." This is what's happening in some sectors of the workforce with guys passing over women applicants because they can be accused of workplace harassment. Just my 2 cents.

Anyway, a two doubleheaders at Pocono this weekend.

Man I've never thought that about working around people of color or having anyone working for me. Women on the other hand...you have a good point. The answer is in the gray. I don't think there in necessarily a ton of racism within NASCAR (although some outbursts from a few fringe drivers, suppliers, etc), but in the stands is where I think you'll find it.

As for Pocono...I love the track but I know many hate it. Not really sure who I would pick. Been a good track for Truex

It's just my opinion of where we're headed if we don't cool things down. I've had a minority woman tell me she'd much rather hire a married, white male because they'd cause the least amount of problems. That was her perception. I'm sure there are others that feel the same way. It sucks because there are some awesome people who deserve a chance that aren't getting because they're getting subconsciously labelled as a "problem child" so to speak.

Anyway, I don't want to bring too much politics into the board.

Going to be a fun weekend in motorsports when you add in Formula 1 in Austria at 8am Sunday and Indycar at the Indianapolis road course right before the Xfinity series on Saturday

Looks like it's the same general layout with some tweaks. Most notably there's a chicane where the final turn was (oval turn 1).

F1 cars running flat out through the oval's turn and rules about only using a single set of tires for the entire race led to the Michelin teams withdrawing from the '05 US GP.

In all honesty, that race was great. Xfinity races are becoming more must see TV for me than the Cup races lately.

Found out last night from his partner that they are part sponsors for the 99 car at the brickyard today.

What a horrible start so far for the Brickyard 400!

1 hour lightning delay and then the red flag during the competition caution due to the wreck on pit road.

I'll be surprised if they make the entire 400 before it gets dark.

And now we can't go 2 laps without another caution. Was really looking forward to this race this weekend but it's almost unwatchable. It doesn't help that I dislike the NBC coverage.

I'm willing the give NBC a pass with it being their first COVID broadcast but their lack of good angles for a couple incidents is pretty poor.

Looks like it will be Hamlin/Harvick pt 3 to finish tonight.

The 2008 Brickyard was unwatchable, but I hate too many yellows combined with the stage racing.

I'd really like to see them move to only 2 stages (halftime and finish).

I could live with a "halftime". I'd like to see it a third of the way to 40% through the race.
