Well Spieth looks good of course after a couple of holes. The CBS crew at Greenbrier nailed it with tiger about having a much faster swing on the course than the range. So he then proceeds to dump a wedge into the water on 1. Course looks great and ESPN coverage is solid as always.

Tiger hits it in the water on 1. How does that even happen? Number 1 at the old course is the easiest hole you'll ever play in major championship golf. I don't understand it

It's a night and day difference.
I wake up to everybody tearing this course up, then I look for Tiger and Patrick Reed and damn they did the eject button.

This is the most entertaining start to an Open that I can remember with Spieth and DJ trading birdies with their contrasting styles. This also marks the first time I am just zipping thru tigers round during a major and not watching every shot. Amazingly bad today.
Great seeing Retief playing well. One of my favorite swings.
Damn tiger's distance control is dog **** I don't think I've ever seen a pro that bad with the shorter irons/wedges

Sad to see Tom Watson go out this way. Double bogey on 17 without being in the bunker or on the road. Missing 3 ft bogey putt then stepping on his playing partner's line when he pulls his ball out of the cup, just out of sorts and head out of the game.

I think that is part of his problem, the drawing board. Every time it doesn't go his way he wants to change is swing and reinvent the wheel. My advice for him is simple. Go to the range. Hit a couple bucket of balls. ALONE. work on solid contact. And maybe he needs to go find him a fat girl
