Converting from the penalty spot, Trinity Buchanan's second goal of the match in the 80th minute lifted Texas A&M to a 2-1 victory over Rice in Houston. With the Wednesday triumph, head coach Bobby Shuttleworth officially begins his head coaching career in the win column.

Coming down to the final 10 minutes of the match, Texas A&M soccer left Houston with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Rice Owls. Trinity Buchanan scored both Aggie goals, and keeper Makenna August made seven stops in the winning effort.
