Despite scoring early goals in both the first and second halves, Texas A&M somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in a 3-2 loss at Texas State on Wednesday night. Mental mistakes in the final 15 minutes dealt the Aggies a major non-conference blow.

1. Costly mistakes. It was a rough night for Texas A&M’s defense, as a one-goal lead after the first 40 seconds of play turned into a Bobcat onslaught, resulting in a 3-2 Aggie loss in San Marcos.

In the 22nd minute of play, Texas State was awarded a free kick taken by defender Jenny Ngankem. The Paris, France, native’s high-arching ball sailed toward the right side of the box for a wide-open Victoria Meza.
