It was a long day of softball at McCombs Field in Austin as Texas A&M dropped its Saturday opener to Texas, 2-1, before bouncing back to eliminate Texas State, 4-2. In year one under Trisha Ford, the Aggies have advanced to Sunday's regional final.

A four-spot in the opening frame was more than enough for the Aggies to lean on as they cruised to 6-3 victory over the Rebels on Saturday. Leveling the series, Julia Cottrill and Morgan Smith accounted for six RBIs, and Emily Leavitt earned her ninth win of the year inside the circle.

In what was a thrilling, back-and-forth affair on Friday night in Oxford, Ole Miss ultimately prevailed with a three-run walk-off home run to down No. 24 Texas A&M, 8-5. With the loss, Trisha Ford's Aggies have now lost four consecutive SEC contests.

No. 24 Texas A&M bounces back with run-rule shutout of Texas State
After being swept over the weekend, Texas A&M rebounded with an 8-0 victory over Texas State in six innings on Wednesday evening. Julia Cottrill busted the game wide open with a grand slam in the fourth, and pitcher Shaylee Ackerman picked up her sixth win of the year.

For the first time since March of 2021, No. 19 Texas A&M has completed a sweep over a conference foe by taking down Mississippi State on Monday night, 5-1. Koko Wooley's multi-hit night highlighted the offense, while Aggie pitching held the Bulldogs to a single run.

In a low-scoring affair that stretched out through 10 innings, dominant pitching from both sides controlled the game until Tennessee ignited a late spark to defeat A&M, 2-1. While the Aggie offense only found two hits, Emily Leavitt held firm with seven strikeouts through 4.2 innings.
