Connecticut transfer utility man Tyler Minick commits to Aggie baseball

Headed south to Aggieland.

On Friday, former Connecticut utility player Tyler Minick announced that he will transfer to Texas A&M and continue his collegiate career in Maroon & White.

In three seasons for the Huskies, the 6-foot right-handed hitter has appeared in 126 games and taken 480 at-bats, slashing .308/.372/.600 with 106 runs scored, 26 doubles, 36 home runs and 123 RBI.

As a junior in 2026, Minick appeared in 30 games as a DH and hit .283 with five home runs and 21 RBI.

His best season at UConn came in 2025, in which he earned second-team All-American honors from the NCBWA after leading the Big East with 22 home runs and 157 total bases. That season, Minick hit .355 with a 1.162 OPS.

In addition to being an impact right-handed bat, Minick has spent time at first base, third base and shortstop during his collegiate career.

Minick is draft-eligible, which means the Aggies will be sweating out his commitment throughout the weekend.

Originally from Reading, Pa., he earned four varsity letters at Governor Mifflin Senior High School and was the Berks Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons.

Minick becomes A&M's 12th portal addition during the current window.
