Two of Texas A&M’s young standouts on the diamond have been invited to the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp in Cary, N.C.
Michael Earley’s Aggies will be represented by infielder Nico Partida and outfielder Jorian Wilson for a handful of intrasquad ballgames in late June before USA Baseball names a final roster for the Collegiate National Team this summer.
Most recently, Gavin Grahovac became the 34th Aggie to be selected by Team USA when he donned the Red, White & Blue following his 2024 SEC Freshman of the Year campaign.
Now, Partida and Wilson have the opportunity to seize the honor of representing their country.
Currently sidelined by a hamstring injury, Partida is slashing .317/.415/.585 in 44 games in 2026. Along with playing premier defense at third base, the Pearland product has slugged eight doubles, 12 homers and driven in 41 runs. Having missed A&M’s last five contests, Partida was considered to be among the front-runners to be SEC Freshman of the Year in addition to Freshman All-American acclaim. Should he return in short order, he would immediately bolster A&M’s already stout offense and infield defense as the postseason nears.
While Partida manned the hot corner on Opening Day, Wilson’s emergence was slightly delayed as the Hallettsville native adjusted to the college game.
Constant shellings and a rocket launcher of a right arm have earned him the “Hallettsville Howitzer” moniker, as his freakish athleticism has turned heads across college baseball. In 37 games and 29 starts in right field, Wilson is slashing .304/.372/.696 with a dozen home runs and 30 RBI. Back-side or pull-side, his powerful left-handed stroke regularly produces tape-measure bombs to all fields.
In July, USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team will participate in the World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taichung City, Taiwan, with its first game scheduled for July 11 vs. Korea.
The CNT’s final roster will be annouced on July 5.
