New Name to Know

LB CJ Ohuabunwa‍, Norcross (GA) Greater Atlanta Christian – 2027

At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Ohuabunwa is a multi-faceted every-down linebacker who brings an explosive burst and mean disposition to the table.

He prides himself on his versatility, and the tape shows a twitchiness off the edge, the range to drop into coverage and the intelligence and instincts to read and react in the snap of a finger.

In addition to linebacker, Ohuabunwa also plays running back and safety, and as a sophomore in 2024, he earned first-team all-region honors after recording 66 tackles, eight TFLs, a sack, two forced fumbles and two interceptions.

His football role models include the likes of Ray Lewis, Brian Dawkins, Troy Polumalu, Luke Kuechly, Fred Warner, Kyle Hamilton and Demarvion Overshown, and athleticism runs in the family with cousins Jordan Nwogu (baseball at Michigan and the Cubs organization), Kasmi Nwogu (women’s basketball at MIT), Jed Olutu-Judah (football at Old Dominion) and Isaac Ohuabunwa (men’s basketball at UT-Dallas). His sister, Naya, currently plays women’s volleyball at Washington University in St. Louis.

Offers have already arrived from Howard, Duke, Wake Forest, East Carolina and Indiana, and attention has also come from Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Virginia and Rutgers. He has visited Georgia this spring, and he is also looking at possible visits to Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia and Rutgers this summer.

In addition to football, Ohuabunwa plays small forward on the varsity basketball team, and he is the goalie for the varsity soccer team. He competes in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x200m, and most importantly, he holds a 4.1 GPA in the classroom.
