IN! No. 8 seed Texas A&M will host Colorado to open NCAA Tournament
Restarting a new NCAA Tournament streak, Texas A&M soccer is IN the field of 64 for a second consecutive year!
During Monday’s NCAA Selection Show, it was announced that head coach G Guerrieri and the Aggies will be a No. 8 seed and host Colorado (13-4-3) in the opening round.
The Maroon & White will face the Buffaloes this weekend in College Station.
Entering the NCAA Tournament with a 9-7-4 overall record and 4-3-3 in Southeastern Conference play, A&M improved on its 9-7-5 and 3-4-3 records in the 2022 season.
Most recently, the Aggies reached the semifinals of the SEC Tournament in Pensacola by beating then-No. 16 South Carolina, 1-0, before falling to eventual conference champion Georgia in a heartbreaking thriller, 4-3, in extra time.
Last season, the Aggies fell at Texas, 3-1, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but now A&M is looking sharper with new offensive powerhouses in Jazmine Wilkinson and Sam Smith.
Of course, the Aggies are no stranger to the big dance, appearing in now 28 of the last 29 NCAA Tournaments.
A&M’s tournament clash at Ellis Field is set for Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. CT.
