Great win. This team has shown the ability for these types of W's... And what's encouraging is that there are plenty of similar chances the rest of the way. We played really clean in this one, sound, sharp. Just a very good all around game.... If we can bottle that up and use it as a blueprint, this team can do some things in the second half of the year.

Johnston was solid, gave them what they needed. Good slider, fastball had some zip at times. First career start and not a huge pitch count possible I'm sure, you take 2.2 IP/1 run every time. Cortez threw strikes, got a lot of weak contact. When the K's start coming more in the future with him, along with his ability to generate poor contact... He will be very good. Palisch was obviously fantastic. Great fastball, was painting with it... Has the slider & also mixed in a couple nice changeups to Shuffield. That's the guy Palisch can be. He, Johnston & Menefee are so important to this team the rest of the season. Lefty trio with a lot of ability & could really stabilize the bullpen if they pitch like they're capable of.

Thought we battled in our AB's... Some great 2 out RBI's. Good approach, not trying to do too much. Kaler was great. 2 hard hit balls, 2 walks, and a couple stellar defensive plays also. Looked much more like himself than at Alabama. Minnich was excellent, very nice swings, staying on pitches and using the whole field.

Just a win to feel really good about and a notch on the postseason resume. Have to wipe the slate clean though & focus on Kentucky... Never any guarantees in baseball that momentum will carry over, have to come out with that same mindset as they did last night. But definitely a great win & hopefully they can get a couple more of those this weekend.
