The postseason honors continue to come for the Maroon & White.

On Saturday, the Associated Press released its All-SEC selections, and eight Aggies earned the honors. Kenyon Green, Nik Constantinou and DeMarvin Leal were first-team selections, while Tyree Johnson, Antonio Johnson, Jalen Wydermyer, Layden Robinson and Isaiah Spiller appeared on the second team.

Green and Leal were also named first-team Walter Camp and FWAA All-Americans. While Leal has announced he will skip his senior season at Texas A&M, Green has not yet decided.

Aggieland’s favorite Australian, Constantinou was named a second-team All-SEC selection earlier this week and now receives first-team All-SEC honors from the AP. The Aussie punted 51 times in 2021, including 23 boots that were downed inside the 20-yard line, for an average of 45.5 yards.

Texas A&M’s stout defense was recognized with two second-team selections in Tyree Johnson and Antonio Johnson. Tyree was a three-time SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week winner and finished 2021 with 8.5 sacks. Antonio played a crucial role as the all-important nickel and recorded 79 tackles with 7.5 tackles for loss.

Offensively, Wydermyer, Robinson and Spiller received second-team nods.

Wydermyer was a Mackey Award finalist as one of the nation’s top tight ends. The Dickinson native caught 40 passes for 515 yards and four touchdowns as a junior. He has not yet announced whether he will return for his senior campaign in 2022.

Despite missing some time with an injury, Robinson played a key role along a line that averaged 134.7 yards per game on the ground, including a season-high 303 vs. Kent State. The Aggies rushed for 200+ yards five times.

Spiller reached the 1,000-yard plateau for the second time in his career, amassing 1,065 yards and six touchdowns on the ground as the Aggies’ feature back. The Klein Collins product also added a game-winning touchdown catch vs. Colorado in Week Two. His future in Aggieland remains a mystery as Spiller could enter the upcoming NFL Draft.
