Game three of the three-game series between No. 17 Kentucky and Texas A&M served as Texas A&M’s senior day, with the Wildcats spoiling the festivities, 5-1. Kentucky departs Aggieland with the series sweep.

Following the loss, the Maroon & White honored seniors Kayla Poynter, Dani Elder, Gabby Moreno and Ashlynn Walls.

In the top of the second, Kentucky’s Grace Baalman singled up the middle to score Autumn Humes, giving the Wildcats an early 1-0 edge.

The Wildcats struck again in the third. A Grace Uribe wild pitch allowed one run to score before an Erin Coffel sacrifice fly brought home Lauren Johnson to stake Kentucky to a 3-0 lead.

Before getting the hook in the fourth, Uribe struck out two and allowed three runs on seven hits.

Makinzy Herzog took over for Uribe and punched out three Wildcats while allowing two runs on four hits.

Kentucky added a run in the sixth on a Herzog wild pitch and another in the seventh as Miranda Stoddard hit a solo home run. Jo Evans turned to Poynter for the final two outs of seventh.

Offensively, the Aggies scored their lone point in the third as Morgan Smith shot a single to right field, scoring Haley Lee. A&M tallied all three of their hits in the third.

The Aggies conclude the regular season next weekend with a three-game set against No. 3 Florida in Gainesville, beginning Friday, May 7. First pitch of the series opener is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
