Emanuel Miller named SEC Player of the Week to close the regular season

Despite going 0-2 against Mississippi State and Arkansas in their first two games back, Aggie basketball has something to smile about heading into the SEC tournament. Sophomore forward Emanuel Miller earned SEC Player of the Week honors for his outstanding effort in those two games to cap off the final week of the regular season.

Miller’s performance was enough to put him in front of two other phenomenal players in Arkansas’ Moses Moody and LSU’s Cameron Thomas, who both earned Co-SEC Freshman of the Week honors.

Eman averaged 23.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals last week, earning him his first conference POTW honor of his career.

Against Mississippi State, Miller had 24 points, was 9-of-17 from the field and recorded13 rebounds. Against Arkansas, he had 23 points, 10 rebounds and was 8-of-15 shooting. Miller was a perfect 13-of-13 from the charity stripe in those two games.

Miller now has two SEC honors, adding to his SEC Freshman of the Week award from December of 2019.

In 2020-2021, Miller has posted six double-doubles, five of which came with 20 or more points.

While this basketball season has been a highly unusual and disappointing one for the Aggies (with eight games postponed during February), the team can now take at least a little bit of solace heading into the SEC Tournament knowing Emanuel Miller is playing his best basketball of the season.
