During Monday's edition of TexAgs Radio, Richard Zane joined to take us Around Aggieland and provided updates from the hardwood, the track, and beyond following a busy weekend for the Maroon & White.

Women’s Basketball (18-1, 9-1 in SEC play)
No. 7 Texas A&M took down No. 16 Arkansas, 69-67, on Sunday afternoon in a thriller.

  • Just as she did in the first matchup between the Ags and Hogs in January, Jordan Nixon played hero as she hit a game-winning layup with eight seconds to play. Nixon finished with just five points
  • Kayla Wells scored a game-high 21 points.
  • Aaliyah Wilson registered a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Ciera Johnson added 13 points.

It was announced following the recording of this edition of Around Aggieland that Texas A&M’s next contest will be against the Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday, February 14. This is a rescheduled contest after the Dec. 31 and Feb. 7 dates were postponed. The Ags and Lady Vols will tip-off at 2:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Track & Field
The Aggies ran in the Charlie Thomas Invitational this past Saturday at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium in Bryan-College Station.

Men’s Tennis (2-1, 0-0 in SEC play)
No. 9 Texas A&M fell to No. 4 Baylor in their ITA Kick-off rescheduled match, 4-1.

The Aggies begin SEC play on February 19 when they host the Kentucky Wildcats at Mitchell Tennis Center. The action begins at 6:00 p.m. CT.

Women’s Tennis (6-2, 0-0 in SEC play)
Texas A&M fell to No. 20 Baylor on Sunday, 5-2.

The Aggies are back in action on Friday when they host Utah at the Mitchell Tennis Center. The action begins at 4:00 p.m. CT

Softball (0-0, 0-0 in SEC play)
Texas A&M opens the 2021 season with a double-header at Davis Diamond against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday afternoon in the Aggie Classic.

  • The Aggies and Islanders’ first contest is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. CT first-pitch, with the second contest scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT. Both games will be aired on the SEC Network+.
  • A&M will also play a double-header against SFA on Saturday, with 1:00 p.m. CT and 3:00 p.m. CT, as well as a Sunday-morning affair against Utah Valley, with first-pitch at 10:00 a.m. CT. All games will stream on SEC Network+.

Men’s Basketball (8-7, 2-6 in SEC play)
It was announced on Sunday that Texas A&M’s contest with Georgia on February 10 has been postponed.

Volleyball (4-4, 4-4 in SEC play)
The Aggies have been dealing with COVID-19 issues, so the status for their upcoming matches with South Carolina remains up in the air. However, it appears they will travel to Columbia this week.

  • Currently, Texas A&M’s February 10 match at South Carolina and the following February 11 match between the Aggies and Gamecocks is still scheduled to be played.
    • Wednesday’s match begins at 6:00 p.m. CT and will air on the SEC Network.
    • Thursday’s match begins at 6:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on the SEC Network+.
