2020 Longview quarterback Haynes King commits to Texas A&M
Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher locked in on Longview quarterback Haynes King this spring, and King has now locked in on Texas A&M.
As a junior in 2018, King led the Lobos to a 16-0 record and the 6A Division II State championship. He threw for 3,877 yards, 42 TDs and only 4 INTs while completing 69-percent of his passes. He earned AP Texas Player of the Year and AP 6A Offensive Player of the Year for his efforts. He was also named the offensive MVP of the 6A Division II Championship game.
He is the 16th commitment of Texas A&M’s 2020 recruiting class and is the only quarterback in the class so far. He is joined by a trio of blue-chip receivers in Demond Demas, Muhsin Muhammad III and Troy Omeire, Georgia running back Deondre Jackson, tight end Blake Smith and offensive linemen Josh Bankhead, Smart Chibuzo, Jordan Jefferson and Akinola Ogunbiyi on the offensive side of the ball.
King is currently ranked No. 18 in the TexAgs 2020 Texas Top 100 and is the No. 1 quarterback in Texas. He also holds offers from the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
