2019 Lanier (Ga.) QB Zach Calzada commits to Texas A&M
An important piece has been added to Texas A&M's 2019 recruiting puzzle today as Lanier (Ga.) quarterback Zach Calzada has given Jimbo Fisher and company his verbal commitment. Calzada is the class' lone quarterback pledge. His addition moves the A&M 2019 class total to 17.
Calzada flew into College Station last Friday to camp at Texas A&M where he was able to showcase his talents in front of Darrell Dickey and Jimbo Fisher. From the looks of things, it seems like both sides were equally impressed with what they saw.
He decided to pull the trigger after a surprise return visit to College Station yesterday.
The 6-3, 200-pounder from the Peach State has seen his stock really take off in the last couple of months. He's grown quite a bit physically and blossomed into one of the top quarterback prospects in the south. He competed against the best prep quarterbacks in the country at the Elite 11 camp earlier this month in California.
He chooses A&M over Georgia, UCLA, West Virginia, Oklahoma State, NC State and many others.
