Walking to baseball last night I saw the UK softball team on the field practicing. Outside was a bus that was from Lexington Kentucky. I think they drove down here. I checked Flightaware yesterday and didn't see a plane coming here from Lexington.

Jo Evans talks facing Kentucky, final series at the Aggie Softball Complex
Key notes from Jo Evans interview
- It's going to be a really fun weekend in town. It's a perfect weekend for an A&M athletics fan to be back in town and watch some sports. The only thing right now is hoping the weather cooperates.
- Kentucky is 3-8 in conference right now, but they have also played some of the toughest teams in conference already. They are a team who has been to the CWS and is always making noise in the tournament. They have a very balanced team to go along with a great coaching staff.
- I was pleased to get out of Starkville with the series win. None of the road games in this league are easy. The weather was absolutely brutal last weekend, playing in the 30s with a drizzling rain. I was pleased to see how resilient we were coming back and getting a couple of wins, including one in extra innings.
- In game one last weekend we really had to hold and rely on Trinity Harrington in the circle. You play a lot of tough games in this league, everyone is going to be close. I think that despite a few innings here and there, we've played great softball all season.
- Kayla Poynter pitched seven innings in relief with only one run, that's pretty impressive for a freshman coming off of injury. I know it's frustrating, but it's important to get her some experience so that we are better prepared for the postseason. I think she is showing us that she is getting better every week and has the ability to get big outs.
- The SEC is just a qulity league every week in Softball and Baseball and the conference office does a great job of showcasing it.
- We're sticking with this being our last series at the old stadium. Starting April 27-29 we will be playing at the Davis Diamond for senior weekend. The stadium will not be all the way done, none of the extra amenities, but we will be able to play games which is huge for our seniors and the program.
