Aggies snag signature of 2021 Katy Taylor OL Bryce Foster

Jimbo Fisher and Josh Henson have done it again on the recruiting trail. On the heels of a monster season behind the Maroon Goons, the Aggies have landed the crown jewel of an already stellar 2021 offensive line class as Katy Taylor standout Bryce Foster‍ has picked Texas A&M.

A longtime, key target ranked fifth overall in the TexAgs state rankings and fourth in the Liucci 44, Foster had a top 5 of A&M, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU and Oregon and had offers for every power program in the country. Bryce also is considered one of the premier young shot put throwers in America and will compete for Pat Henry and company as well. 

At 6-5, 320 pounds, the name of the game for Foster is power. There aren’t many better than Bryce at moving people against their will. However, while the power is impressive, Foster certainly checks a lot more boxes at an elite level. He plays with light feet. He shows a high level of football IQ and versatility. He is also an advanced technician who consistently finds his fits in both pass sets and run blocking. You can view his highlights below.

Foster’s addition brings the Aggies’ total to 20 in this class. He joins Trey Zuhn‍, Remington Strickland‍, Reuben Fatheree‍, and Matthew Wykoff‍ in the A&M offensive line haul.

That's a great point about the track program & facilities being a selling point for his football commitment.

This is a good recruit. I like it that he throws the shot put. Foot speed is needed for the shot.

Letting that dude touch you shows poor life skills. Foster must spend a lot of time in film gently asking the running backs why they try to follow other blocks sometimes.

His film is incredible but absolutely mind blowing that he is doing it at the 6A level in Texas. These are not 2A and 3A kids he is making leave their feet. Wow.

You know, watching that film of him at C makes me wonder if he doesn't see the field early at Center. It is such an underappreciated position but a game changing Center can make an OL elite in a hurry.

I love to see a Naturally mean big guy. He seems to really enjoy violence. Plenty of HS LBs and Safeties like it, but few OL unless a specific defender pisses them off.

I don't know anything about the rankings but my gut feeling is that Foster is one of the best line recruits I've seen in a long, long time. He's a road grader.

Can't help wondering if he would be ranked higher if he played at tackle instead of on the inside.
