Y'all are scraping the bottom of the barrel for some of those tweets.

Also, isn't it a sad sign of the times when Mia Khalifa gets more likes and retweets about a sports comment than Dick Vitale.

I went over to the Reddit thread that Stewart linked to and a post by a Penn State guy said...

" the new international symbol for I've taken a new coaching job is the coach throwing a Christmas tree in the yard "

I laughed till I cried.

There are great comments!!!

There it is. Sad to see Jimbo go, but it's a relief to have things final at this point. Now #FSU can move full-speed forward

"Tweets are forever @DocStaples"

Fully aware. That's why I haven't deleted it. I've been on top of this since Sunday, when my sources made it clear that this time was different, and could have deleted it at any point

Eh. I have to give @BudElliott3 and @IngramSmith credit for giving more credence to the TAMU rumblings before others did. I heard them, just didn't buy them until they started from FSU/Fisher side, which was Sunday

Didn't think that one through.

I know Jimbo & this move really surprises me / give @AggieFootball credit they got the man they wanted / monopoly dollars didn't hurt the chase

Was trying to figure out why so many A&M fans were in my mentions today. Didn't think this was that dramatic. Even said that same day he could leave.

But they got their guy, so I get it.
@GoodunKyle said:

I guess congrats on Limbo

"Eating crow now?"

Not really Congrats on your new coach though . I bet we still have a conference and national title before a&m without spending 75 million. You be better off putting that 75 million in one of those oil wells lol

All these dudes trolling my Jimbo to A&M comments

For various financial and personal reasons, a coach left an objectively better program for a lesser one. Good for A&M. We'll see if it changes their standing in the SEC.

"Report: Florida State players threatening to transfer if Jimbo Fisher stays"

Man, A&M is going to permanently suck real soon.
@SaturdayJC said:

How much of your life did you waste digging that one up? If Jimbo wants to go, then he can go. What he did at Florida State was special, so I'll always be grateful, but there's no question he was helped by the brand he inherited. FSU will be fine.

Yes, I was wrong about Jimbo Fisher leaving Florida State for Texas A&M. Maybe it's changed since I first entered the business a long time ago, but a crystal ball doesn't come standard with the press credential. I'll lose zero sleep over this, by the way. #GoNoles #GigEm

The extended buildup to this has diluted how shocking it is.

Been a long long time since a coach with a national championship in his current job and an opportunity to win more has left that job for another school.

Also should go without saying, despite the apparent dysfunction at FSU from A&M's perspective this about as good a hire as it's possible to make.

Jimbo Fisher leaves FSU, takes Texas A&M job http://thesent.nl/2j7qzDY
@cffmwachsman said:

Jimbo thinks it's better. Doesn't mean it is. I think if you ask most observers around the country which job is more prestigious, most will say FSU. Doesn't mean it is, but that's the perception. Interested to see how well he does in College Station.

FSU has won 71 percent of its games and a national title (and contended for another) since 2000. Aggies have lost at least four games every year but one in that same stretch, and has been the fourth best program in the state the last 10 years. So, logical call on my part.
@CScalera1 said:

FSU is still a better job. Money talks though. Enjoy trying to keep him every year when he plays y'all for more money

Some salty ****ing Aggie fans out here today...

Yeah 25 days ago I did... good call buddy

Congrats on your recent accomplishment. I wrote this 25 days ago. Information changes between now and then. Jesus.......

Welp... there goes my mentions for the next couple days... smh

I completely underestimated the "off the field" things Jimbo Fisher has been dealing with in his decision to leave Florida State.

Texas A&M fans are so excited they signed Jimbo Fisher to a 10 year deal for $75 mill deal. There's literally zero margin for error.

Do y'all believe he will beat Saban, Malzahn regularly to compete for SEC West?
@Moorelife1 said:

Jimbo will win at Texas A&M I really have no doubt about tbh I still don't think Jimbo hit his prime as a coach but he needed to leaving now

FSU is better for Jimbo becoming the coach and pushing his agenda onto FSU Taggart will do fine here and win big also.

So jimbo has been making calls to potential assistant coaches. So was he calling for FSU or for Texas A&M?

Jimbo could've handled it better but tbh him leaving was never gonna be easy for him

Got a **** load Texas A&M Twitter bots in my mentions
@HaistenWillis said:

Haha not saying they weren't true, just that it didn't make sense for either party. Guess we'll see now
@grantataylor_ said:

hopefully we can all agree that the downfall of Jimbo was those cheap reading glasses

It's not money. Jimbo is hard to work with and some relationships went sour.

It doesn't matter who A&M hires as head coach because they will only fire him in 4 to 6 years anyway. A&M could have saved themselves 60 million bucks and hired good 'ol Johnny Football. He's so desperate for a football gig he'd probably take five mil a year for three years, and he could produce the same results the Aggies had this past season. Sure, the Aggies probably wouldn't be any better, but they probably wouldn't be any worse either. And they would save themselves tens of millions of dollars in the meantime. The point of this diatribe is that it doesn't matter who A&M hires because they don't have any loyalty to the head coach. The unfortunate fool who accepts the position of head coach is just a means to an end to the Board of Regents.

This statement dates you, sir. This is not somehow unique to Texas A&M, nor to college sports. This is the world we live in now.

My mistake. I thought we were talking Texas A&M and the new guy they hired (and will likely soon fire) to coach the football team. Further, I,m not sure how to take your "this statement dates you..." comment given that I've been watching Aggie football since back when they would visit the Chicken Ranch after winning the Cotton Bowl. I, for one, am not a fan of the big business mentality of what used to be a system that prided itself on tradition and integrity. all that matters behind closed doors anymore is the bottom line. Does anyone else remember when A&M was led by Academians instead of business men? Sully sure didn't seem to care about money as much as he cared about the education of his students, and I would like to have a President like him back at the helm of the good ship Aggieland.
