For those who had COVID a long time ago and got vaccinated. Did you have any side effects at all?

Someone I know lost all of his hair after the second shot. He lost it in huge clumps. Yes, I'm serious. 5-6 months later and it still hasn't grown back normally.

I had a rough case of COVID in March 2020 and had a strong response to my first Moderna dose in January 2021. Fever, chills, nausea, and vomiting for about 24 hours. My 2nd dose was a much milder experience.

I am immouncompromised so your mileage may vary.

I was vaccinated about 45 days after having very mild case (mostly just a slight fever for 5 or 6 days). Had a slight fever for several hours after both shots, but that was about it.

Was vaccinated about 90 days after COVID. A little tired for a couple days and a sore arm. I've had worse responses after a concert at the old Hall of Fame.

Covid last December, Pfizer in April. Sore arm after shot #1 and that was it.

I would recommend going with Moderna since it's been doing the best against delta. You might have a headache or fever but once you get past that you should be golden. Note that my nearly all of my vaccinated friends with Pfizer had nearly no reaction symptoms other than some slight fatigue whereas Moderna friends had rash, chiils or spiked fevers. In retrospect I think those symptoms might be what's giving Moderna recipients better protection. Something to consider when making your decision..

Don't know what your definition of "long time" is, but I had a very mild case of Covid in early December (had a slightly runny/stuffy nose and completely lost taste and smell; no fever, headache, cough, or body aches).

I was vaccinated with Pfizer in mid-March/early April. Both shots left my arm sore. My arm was more sore after the first shot compared to the second. No other symptoms.

Covid in March 2020. Symptoms:migraine, exhaustion, some congestion, no fever. Lost sense of smell about day 7 and it took ~1 month to return. Hair loss for about 6mo- would come out in hair brush and in shower. Crazy. Still had antibodies in 12/2020 when I gave blood.

J&J vax in March '21. Severe chills, exhaustion, flu-like feeling for about 2 days.

It seems like it all depends on the person and the vaccine.

I recommend moderna as well, seems to be doing well.

Both shots got me down, but no clue If I had Covid before. The nurse suspected I did and didn't know it based off my symptoms to the shot, but that's just anecdotal.

I got Pfizer with no symptoms and everyone else I know got moderna and got sick which I bet is why it's working better. Makes sense to me.

I will likely go with Pfizer. I don't need a major boost -- I had it earlier this year.

Did a finger ***** test for antibodies and was negative. Had COVID in late January.

Will probably do Pfizer soon.

COVID mid January and first shot of Pfizer 3 weeks later. Early February. 2nd shot early March. No issues outside of being a little knocked out the day after shots.

Pfizer. Oh, I did forget my arm was fairly sore for a few days after the first one. Much less so after the second shot.

Ive had long-term covid symptoms for 14 months. I got the pfizer shot 4 months ago and now I get frequent dizzy/light headed spells and pain in my right forearm. I didnt have those symptoms before the shot. The day of the shot I felt nauseous all day but it went away the next day.

Association of Vaccine Type and Prior SARS-CoV-2 Infection With Symptoms and Antibody Measurements Following Vaccination Among Health Care Workers | Infectious Diseases | JAMA Internal Medicine | JAMA Network

Quote:

A questionnaire and serum sample were collected 14 or more days following dose 2 for 954 HWs. Clinically significant symptoms were reported by 52 of the 954 (5%) after dose 1 and 407 (43%) after dose 2. After adjusting for prior SARS-CoV-2 infection, age, and sex, the odds of clinically significant symptoms following either dose were higher among participants who received the Moderna vs the Pfizer vaccine (dose 1: odds ratio [OR], 1.83; 95% CI, 0.96-3.50; dose 2: OR, 2.43; 95% CI, 1.73-3.40) (Table). Prior SARS-CoV-2 exposure was associated with increased odds of clinically significant symptoms following dose 1 (OR, 4.38; 95% CI, 2.25-8.55) but not dose 2 (OR, 0.60; 95% CI, 0.36-0.99), after controlling for vaccine type, age, and sex.

Regardless of symptoms, the vast majority of participants (953 of 954, greater than 99.9%) developed spike IgG antibodies 14 or more days following dose 2; 1 participant who was taking immunosuppressant medication did not develop IgG antibodies (Figure). Reporting clinically significant symptoms, age younger than 60 years, female sex, receipt of Moderna vaccine, and prior SARS-CoV-2 exposure were independently associated with higher median IgG measurements, after adjusting for time after dose 2.

I lost a lot of hair after I got covid last year, but it eventually grew back. Same happened to my cousin. This is a common side effect for covid, but didnt realize it was a side effect of the vaccine.

I had hair loss for about 6 months after I had Covid. I did not experience it after getting my vaccine in March 2021.

A doctor can correct me, but I think this is more an effect of an immune response rather than specific to just covid.

The immune system is known to sometimes attack hair follicles. Pregnant women sometimes lose their hair due to the stress on their body.

Got the Moderna shot Friday. Have felt bad starting Saturday and feel worse today. Low fever, headache, body aches, runny nose, cough and congestion. Arm hurt bad and lymph nodes swollen for 2 days. Wish I wouldn't have took the shot now. Don't want to get second. Anyone else experience this? How long did it last?

I was confirmed positive on May 4, 2020. I had a very tough go of it, first 3 days felt like crap, then 3 days where I was OK, then 4 tough days, then 4 days where I was OK. Thankfully, my oxygen uptake was never an issue, but I had all the other Covid issues. It took a long time to get my stamina back.

I got the first Pfizer shot ten days ago. Within 12 hours, I felt worse than when I had Covid....uncontrollable shakes, fever, sweating, body aches, the whole 9 yards. I called out of work the first day, and should have called out the second day. From what I've gleaned online, my experience was not unusual.

Hopefully my second shot won't be as bad.

If you already had covid, I don't know that the 2nd shot will produce any benefit for you. Read up on it. Some study's posted here on these boards.

Previous Covd+ with recovery plus 1 Shot is equal to or greater than 2 shots. I see no need for the 2nd if you already recovered from Covid but that just me.

I just wish the healthcare industry would freaking track and report data on hospitalization rates of those re-infected, and also amount of people re-infected. That would far and away help me decide ultimately if I want to add the vaxx to my already recovered immunity. Been battling this decision for couple weeks. Not enough data out there to decide.

Kind of a study from Israel, kind of a study from Cleveland Clinic. Would like to find more and better data.

Like you recovered October 2020. I've been around numerous Covid+ people since then and I haven't caught it again. But, I have friends and co-workers catching the Delta 1 who has passed away and 1 still intubated. Both in their 40's, and were seemingly in decent health / active...Dad bod's, but not overly obese as one would imagine.

My wife tested positive twice, but symptoms were never near hospitalization.

I went with Pfizer. Most of the reviews I've seen on Moderna suggests a more prolonged immune response, and typically stronger. I don't need that. I've had COVID before and I'm just doing this for folks around me, and I've been told by multiple people who had COVID and got Pfizer that it was a breeze.

Guess we will find out

I'm looking to be on this path / thought process as well, just wish we had more data on if natural immunity is good enough....

I did a finger ***** test yesterday and tested negative for both. It was an ECOTEST at Kroger Pharmacy. Wife tested positive (she ended up with COVID pneumonia -- slight case - -but still, covid kicked her ass a little more). My case was extremely mild, so i'm guessing my immune response wasn't as strong, as noted by the lack of antibodies.

Of course, I will still have robust T-Immunity that would probably save my ass if I kept going unvaccinated, but I'm not going to take that chance when I'm going to Kyle every weekend this fall. I'm 38, 6-2, 220, work out a lot. Good metrics, but not going to chance it w/ Delta.

Will do. I take a lot of tumeric, VD, zinc, etc, always have -- so I'm hoping that will alleviate some things. I'm also chalking some of my mild COVID case up to having high levels of all those things in my system.

Just a heads up -- very minimal symptoms. Had one little sweat fest this morning with no fever, and back is pretty sore. But that also could be from a pretty intense set of workouts the first three days this week.

No biggie, really.
