Still amazed how out in front of the vitamin D thing you were. That wouldn't have occurred to me in 1000 years.

we give patients Vit D, Ivermectin, ASA, Medrol, Doxy &/or HCQ, much of it depends on viral phenotype and symptom days... people get better. disease is real, but so is early treatment success. i'm amazed at the response from patients and the relative silence from our institutions on these matters.

I'm going preface this with I'm frustrated and angry . I've been mister mom all week to a 2 and 6 year old, managing a remodel, and trying to work while my wife has been in quarantine. So probably going to come off as a dick.

My wife came down with a fever and headache Tuesday evening. She's a teacher so she had to go get Covid tested asap so she could start going through her schools check list so she could try and get back to work as soon as possible.

She's now tested negative twice. Flu and strep also were negative. We even had our oldest child Covid tested so she could go back to school and it came back negative. My wife is over whatever she had.

However, her doctor's office just told her they are assuming she has Covid and she needs to quarantine for another 7 days past her last test results. This will mean our youngest (2 year old) can't return to daycare at my wife's school until the end of October because of their asinine Covid policy (kid has to quarantine 14 days starting after the quarantine ends from the person they were exposed by).

What the hell is going on here?!? I'll be the first to admit I'm not Einstein, but I'm an educated individual with a couple degrees on the wall. Mathematically, 2 false negatives are closer odds to winning the lottery than not. 3 negative tests in our house should seal the deal. Her 2 generic symptoms (low grade fever and headache) ran their course way too quick to be Covid and she had no other Covid symptoms. She's more likely to have bad allergies or a reaction to all the paint fumes currently in our house because of a remodel than Covid. Why are we taking tests if they will be ignored?!?

I'm sorry, but I have lost all faith in her Doctor's judgment. This isn't science.

/End rant.

I agree that the two negative tests along with the household testing negative he should have cleared her to return to work. It was likely just another viral illness. Everything with fever is not Covid-19.

Many of my fellow teachers were told to start vitamin D when we returned face to face by their doctors. Most are people of color. I had shared months ago that Vit D was critical from your information. You really are ahead of many primary care doctors. I take your suggestions and pray a ton. Hopefully together they will work.

All your advice seems to be paying off for me so far. I got a positive test on Friday morning, loaded up on D3 that evening along with everything on your list I could get my hands on. I had a slight cough, Since then, I have never run fever. I have been pretty achy and kind of tired, but nothing worse than a Sunday after a tough Aggie loss. And no prescription meds or doctor visit. I'm hoping the worst is over.

Thanks again for your hard work and excellent counsel over the last several months. I could have done a lot worse!

Rev, thanks for all your info... have a question. I am mid 40's and overweight. Got back to taking vitamins regularly once this started. I take GNC Mega Men daily and drink Green Tea each evening.

GNC
Vitamin D = 40mcg (200%)
Zinc = 25mg (227%)

Are those quantities good enough? Or should I supplement them on top?

Likely those are fine. I would check vitamin D level next time you get blood drawn. Try to get level around 60 if you can.

Thank you so much!

I'm curious about the accuracy of data on the website you linked. Do you think the updating is happening more quickly now or is there still a lag time? As of yesterday, there were 40 active cases in Wylie ISD. The link you posted led me to this page for Collin County data. That link says there are 83 active cases in C.C. That seems low when there are 40 in WISD. But, that could certainly be attributed to lag time in data updates. I'm just curious about what you're seeing as far as data collection recently. Thanks!

Editing to add more Collin County data:
Plano ISD - 65 active cases as of 10/9/20
Allen ISD- 10 active cases (I'd love to know what they're doing!)
McKinney ISD - 29 active cases
Prosper ISD- 55 active cases

Anyway, you get the idea. There's clearly a lag. I'm just wondering how long it is. You may not have any idea, but if you do, I'd love to know!

Also, thanks for sharing your football analysis. It was a nice bit of normal!

I have some family members that have become ill with a low-grade fever (99.5 to 100.4 degrees). The oldest (64 years old) developed the fever on Tuesday evening, with some pain around the eyes and muscle aches.
Wednesday morning, he tested negative for COVID, flu, and strep. His wife also has similar symptoms, as well as their daughter (who just lost her sense of taste and smell). Both are still running fever.

Should they get tested again? Neither has been sick since the swine flu epidemic.

Daughter tested positive today for COVID-19, so it is almost a certainty that mother and father have it. They are feeling better today, however. They are taking zinc, quercetin, vitamin D, CoQ-10, and vitamin C. Neither have had a cough or sinus congestion. No shortness of breath, but elevated heart rate and slightly low blood pressure.

I figured it was Covid-19. Those supplements should be fine. I went over what to do in my last post if you are positive.
