there was never any formal concern about the integrity of addicks

What streets is that?
It looks like it has plateaued, which is good.Mikeyshooter said:
Does anyone have any knowledge about when Addicks will peak? When it could come back down under 108?

I heard that they just flooded Sam Houston Tollway and Gessner and miles and miles around memorial coming from Barker and Addicks. Is this right ?
The link below is the map jeff released today showing the areas being flooded along the bayou. If link doesn't work, go to the hcfcd site and click on the inundation map from addicks and barker.TurkeyBaconLeg said:

Jeff's twitter page says it has peaked and should start to come down, just very slowly.CharlieChaplin said:Mikeyshooter said:

Peaked at 4:30 this morning and has remained right around 109 since this morning. Jeff just wrapped up his press conference, but didn't really have any info about when specifically it will be below 108.
this would have been nice to know before they opened the ****ing dam.....i guess now i know for next timeProc92 said:The link below is the map jeff released today showing the areas being flooded along the bayou. no ****ing *****...sorry not mad at you but hate the floodingAggiemike96 said:
ACOE has slightly lowered the Addicks release and kept Barker the same. Lindner expects additional water rise between the Belt and downstream. The flooding in the Energy Corridor is a direct result of the controlled releases.
I'm no expert and concur with this hypothesis. The water was coming out of the reservoir one way or another.Mikeyshooter said:
I'm not an expert but without the controlled release of Addicks, the reservoir would have filled up and gone over the other spillways probably flooding everyone anyways.

yea i get that, my problem was that my neighborhood was the first one down buffalo bayou from the dam and they had to know this would flood the neighborhood or have a good idea it would and we got zero warning. They said we will release tomorrow at 2pm from barker and they started at 12am the day before. I have friends and neighbors scared and their lives threatened at 2 am when they were preparing for the next afternoon. I get it it had to be done, and i know my house would be flooded anyways. But just wish there was some sort of communication "if you are between buffalo bayou or within so so yards of it, you need to leave now because you will probably flood"MyMamaSaid said:I'm no expert and concur with this hypothesis. Agreed on communication. I saw the tweet that said they started the releases at both reservoirs and was shocked.
