I know someone who drove from New Orleans to Sugar Land today, and they said the only flooding was on the feeder roads. They took BW8 instead of going through town. I wouldn't advise doing this, but I'm just telling you what they did.

A boat? No really, he's likely to get stranded between Lafayette and Lake Charles. Even driving south on state highways. He needs to head north thru Shreveport back into Texas. We got stranded in Vermillion Parish last August from flooding.

It should help a catastrophic failure of the levees ****ing all of Houston. Should raise buffalo bayou 1-3 feet more which will screw spot more people around the area

Destroy some to save a lot more

This is my hood. Mason creek is very high, but as of this afternoon wasn't in imminent risk of going out of bank. We'll see.

My FIL&MIL have the lake in their back yard coming toward their house, but if the creek comes into the neighborhood it likely makes it worse.

I'm on the west side too, but close to 1463. Draining well -- only water is on edges of street draining off. I just don't know how much more we can take. At some point it will stop draining. Releasing water from ad***** and barker reservoirs will help. It is just absolutely pouring.

1463 at 1-10 was nearly impassable at 2pm. I'd say we've gotten 4" since then. Everybody stay off the roads in this area, especially around the buffalo bayou bridge by kingsland.

I am right near there off of Westgreen and Highland Knolls. Things seem to be flowing ok over here right now. Water is still over an inch from the top of the curb, however that might change quickly if the rain stays steady and it doesn't have anywhere to drain.
So far so good though.

Looking at the creek right now from my porch. I back up to it in the east side of creek off Sage Thistle. It's crazy crazy high but we're still ok. I sunk a rake handle in the ground a few hours ago and the waters up a little it appears but we've had some heavy rains the last hour so I am about to check it again. It's just dark enough I can't see bottom of it without getting soaked. It's still a good 8ft from my fence and when I stood at the water line earlier a good 7 ft or so below my slab elevation. It would still take a massive amount of water to get it to my house but it's also already a massive amount of water out there now. I just can't believe how high it is now.

The releases should be going down the Buffalo Bayou channel...so other than any water going around the south end of Barker Dam if it goes around the emergency spillway, this shouldn't impact you.
