I'm trying to get on a plane to Texas here today and make it to Friendswood, might have to link up with your husband if he's still there and try and make it to Friendswood together
TC, please do. He's struggling finding traffic data online. He's in an F-150 and I know he's going to try and brave it tomorrow. Full disclosure, he's a t-sip, but a good one. He's at a holiday inn near the airport. PM me for more info. Your wife doing ok, get her power back?

Someone above mentioned they may drain some of Ad***** tonight. Here is a news story backing that up.

Who does this help and who does it hurt? If says they'll release water downstream but some upstream will be effected.

KPRC said Army Corps of Engineers confirmed this is indeed the case. Helps west of it, hurts east...

And this is why I continue to shop at HEB. Good company, good neighbors, good people and good products. Great Texas company. Kudos to HEB for helping Texans in such a trying time.
Exactly. HEB in our area was open, limited staff busting their humps to help everyone. Good bull HEB.

Crap ass Kroger closed their west katy location all day today.

But most people here complaining about working and suggesting boycotting businesses. Damned if you do, Damned if you don't I guess

A boat? No really, he's likely to get stranded between Lafayette and Lake Charles. Even driving south on state highways. He needs to head north thru Shreveport back into Texas. We got stranded in Vermillion Parish last August from flooding.

Anyone near the 1400 block of Harvard in The Heights? My parents are at my sisters place there after they left Corpus before the storm. How bad is the area? Thanks

Still getting pounded with rain in West Katy (Firethorne -- west of 99, south of i10). More tornado warnings. My rain gauge says almost 4" since after noon.

Live south of 99/Rayford in 500 year flood plain of Spring Creek. Anyone been in this area long enough to know if it'll flood? Drove back in Benders Landing and some houses were already close to having water in them.

I'm on west side of firethorne and have had 1' in the street since 3pm with the constant rain. So far it's still draining well.

Next tick mark on sledge hammer is 1.5'

Just got power back after being out about 3 hours. Putting that pizza in ASAP incase it goes out again. So glad I downloaded movies to one of the iPads so the kids didn't go too crazy. Would happily go without power if it meant the rain leaving and the waters to go down.

I'm on the west side too, but close to 1463. Draining well -- only water is on edges of street draining off. I just don't know how much more we can take. At some point it will stop draining. Releasing water from ad***** and barker reservoirs will help. It is just absolutely pouring.

In-laws live in Canyon Gate at Mason and 1093.

Barker Cypress is backing up and getting really close to flooding the entire neighborhood. I'm getting really nervous for them.

1463 at 1-10 was nearly impassable at 2pm. I'd say we've gotten 4" since then. Everybody stay off the roads in this area, especially around the buffalo bayou bridge by kingsland.

I'm at Harvard and 7th with zero issues. People seem to be heading north towards the 1400 block with no issues but I can't confirm it's no issues where your family is. The areas impacted in the heights seem to be west and south along white oak bayou

I'm looking to help out. No boat, no jacked up truck, and I'm in Sugar Land. Anyone know any way to help out?
serious answer....
STAY HOME. I was just on the phone with a friend on Ed E's staff to see if I could help. He said that unless you have rescue equipment or rescue training they ask that we just stay home, there will be plenty of ops to help in the coming MONTHS !!!

I'm here too. I wanted to get all my gear on and volunteer to join anyone that had a boat. Wife talked me out of it by telling me to stay out of the way of the professionals. It's killing me to just sit here though.

What makes people think they can drive all of a sudden?

Freeways are either under water or being used as staging areas where people are being dropped off by helicopter.

Stay in place and let the first responders help those who are trapped.

Anyone live in Baytown? Apparently my parents had water come into their garage, and about 2 inches from coming in their front door. It has since receded but, there's still a little water in the streets. I wonder how much the tide affecting drainage from Houston. It looks like low tide was at 3:47, it'll rise till 11:34 then start dropping again.

I know someone who drove from New Orleans to Sugar Land today, and they said the only flooding was on the feeder roads. They took BW8 instead of going through town. I wouldn't advise doing this, but I'm just telling you what they did.

No idea what these releases are going to do. I'm assuming our neighborhood is going to be 6 feet underwater by tomorrow this time but who knows
